nobody dies from a shot to testicles, unless the bullet entered through testicles and lodged in the femoral aorta, abdomen, ribcage.

that's <deleted>, what if you have a couple of Viagra pumping through the system.

...and that's why only idiots and movie stars (on screen) tuck hand guns in their belts! If you have the ken to make a home made pistol, surely a shoulder holster isn't out of the bounds of possibility!

That sure would put a whole new meaning to a hole in the heart...

make a balls up of that...saves him using it on someone else...they all think there billy the kid over here..or lambo..w00t.gif

"they all think there billy the kid over here..or lambo..w00t.gif.pagespeed.ce.fUUOmDCInI.gif"

I think the modern day Billy the Kid and Rambo wannabes are permanently resident far, far away from Thailand. There's a reason why neither Billy nor Rambo have Thai names.

In 2010, guns took the lives of 31,076 Americans in homicides, suicides and unintentional shootings. This is the equivalent of more than 85 deaths each day and more than three deaths each hour.1

73,505 Americans were treated in hospital emergency departments for non-fatal gunshot wounds in 2010.2

Firearms were the third-leading cause of injury-related deaths nationwide in 2010, following poisoning and motor vehicle accidents.3

Between 1955 and 1975, the Vietnam War killed over 58,000 American soldiers – less than the number of civilians killed with guns in the U.S. in an average two-year period.4

In the first seven years of the U.S.-Iraq War, over 4,400 American soldiers were killed. Almost as many civilians are killed with guns in the U.S., however, every seven weeks.5

Hey stupid.

This may have helped.

It's obviously a Home-made - locally-made pistol and therefore would have no Safety.

It also looks as though it takes a single Shotgun cartridge, which would probably obliterate the genitalia rather than simply "puncture" them.

Patrick

Yes, "vaporized" is more like it!

Indeed.

I had a good close look at one of these home made guns just two days ago. It looked exactly like the one in the picture.

No safety, takes a single 12 Bore cartridge.... and at that range would make a very large mess.

Lack of firearms training it seems.............coffee1.gif

Yes he should have watched the Plaxico Burris one on Gun Control! Google it. Ha!

This may have helped.

Have you ever been to Thailand.whistling.gif

Looks like he had a handmade gun from the pics. They don't have safety switches.

Som Nam Na

Now if all the other morons running around with guns would just do the same, then maybe the rest of us would be safer!

Wouldn't that be

Som Nam Ouch?

How can one die from being shot in the nuts? I mean they aren't a vital organ ... err, well... sort of.

Yes, you can bleed to death from this. I'm a former army medic and I know this from training, not personal experience. The scrotum is very well supplied with blood vessels. If you were to cleanly cut somebody's nut-sack off, the severed ends might be able to clot over on their own and stop bleeding. A gunshot at close-range, OTOH, could shred so many blood vessels that the bleeding won't stop on its own and I'm willing to bet that even if this guy knew anything about first aid, which shockingly few Thais do, he'd still be unwilling to tie a tight tourniquet around it and call an ambulance straight away. Instead he waited, probably a long time, in hopes that it would stop bleeding on its own. By the time he realized he was bleeding to death and crawled from the bedroom asking for help, it was too late.

The facts.

Hi-Lo gambling.

Funeral.

Firearm.

Testicles.

Blood.

Screaming.

Crawling.

Now make a soap-opera.

I don't know why Thais like soap operas so much when basically living here is the same thing as being in a soap opera. As the saying goes "You couldn't make this stuff up.".

Hmmm - thanks for the information!

However since it's 8.00 pm here in Thailand and therefore I am about to go down to Dinner, it's rather more detail than I need right now.

After accidentally discharging a firearm into his testicles ? As opposed to what, all the people who shoot themselves in the balls on purpose?

Is this that common here that they need to make the distinction?

I believe this was an accident. Come on the News Headline is too stupid... " gambler dies after shooting himself in Testicles", I dont think its funny !!! Was any one there when the fire took place???

How could possibly the reporter write such a report in such a manner? Gambler or not...he was a human being. Show some respect please

Respect is earned.

He is receiving the appropriate amount.

I know almost nothing about guns, but that one looks decidedly home-made. If people are able to make them themselves then there's not much hope.

Is it likely that a home-made gun would have a safety catch? Too much trouble to include one because it is an unnecessary extra expense......

Yeah, but with the *collateral* damage may as well die.

You gotta be a real genius to stick a no-holster, no-safety, crap pistol under your belt (if he had a belt), gangsta style. Even the cats with decent Glock Nines blast themselves. pulling that stupid move. >>> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plaxico_Burress#Accidental_shooting
