Why so much negativity on the Chiang Mai forum

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

Someone posts a quite normal question about this or that,he/she will get the required

help or information, then more often the thread will be taken over by negative posters,

who have nothing constructive to offer, nothing to help or answer the OP.

Its only a handful ,but i think it spoils the whole experience, with their stupid jokes, nasty

remarks, they seen to have a god complex, they think the know everything, but instead

of giving out this knowledge, they would rather just criticize, try to make other posters

feel stupid,

Looking at most other forums on ThaiVisa ,you do not find this ,does that mean

Chiang Mai has the most grumpy old, with nothing better to do old men.I am quite

sure if they were not hidden behind the keyboard, some of them might be nice normal

helpful people.

Look at the World News forum, Thailand News forum or Pattaya forums sometime. The Chiang Mai forum is genteel in comparison.

Can't see the point of threads like this is that what you mean?

Sorry,could not resist. 1508251.GIF

This is not necessarily the case...

In my opinion, many of the posters are trying to impress "someone" (maybe themselves?) how knowledgeable they are. That is a big difference than offering to help. Very often, their posting attitude changes over time.

For many that do change attitudes and continue to post, one of the first things to go is including in their posts how long they have been in Chiang Mai.

I like the bear, can you please send it to me?

Is my post an example of what the OP, is referring to?

One might guess the reason you want the bear is that when you next post you can include the bear and a happy smiley and then appear to tell all to grin and bear it.....

There are and there will be always people like that. Behind a screen and a keyboard they show their "true face".

I reckon most of these nagative types are the ones i see around Supermarkets with long, miserable faces. I mean; if a Man can't smile when he's out with his Thai bride having his wallet emptied or sitting in the food court eating his 'hoy tod' with his two adopted offspring, when will he smile ?

From what i generally observe there are a lot who come to their 'Paradise' only to find disenchantment, subsequently joining the 'Miserable Old Gits' club.
