Dual National - Daperture And Entry

Featured Replies

Hey All

heres the outline. My Son has a British passport and I will also be getting him a Thai passport.

On exit from Bangkok do we use the British passport as this will then be stamped "departed" with no entry date as it is his first exit from Thailand. Does he use the Thai one, but this has no visa stamp in for the UK?

I know he will use the British one on entry into EU, Sorry but it is a confusing issue, I have tried to sort out the confuddle but it just doesnt click? Any dual national know the crack?

Thanks all :o

i think you would use the thai passport to exit thailand and then present the uk passport on your arrival.

when leaving the uk you leave on the uk passport and then enter thailand on the thai passport.

no visas required.

thats always worked for my wife.

Yes Taxexile

but the airline expects to see a UK visa stamp at the checkin do they not? The Thai passport would not have this?

Thanks for your reply. Lop :o

Show at check-in both p/ports. The staff is used to this.

show the airline both passports upon check in. UK PP shows the traveller has the right to travel to the EU visa free. Thus no visa needed in the Thai PP.

Get stamped out on the Thai passport.

Enter and leave EU on the GB passport

Re-enter Thailand on the Thai PP.

No one these days cares about stamp trails.

CORRECT. Thai passport when leaving Thailand , British when coming entering UK !!

Problem at check in ? Not at all. Just show the check in girl the British passport and they know no visa required as British citizen..
