Tourist Visa Extension - Where to go?

Featured Replies

I'm coming soon to Thailand and I will require a 30 day extension to my Tourist on Arrival visa. I know in the past you went to Cheng-Wattana for these. However, I hear it isn't open anymore.

Can anyone please help me as far as where to go for this service?

--Thanks

What nationality are you ?

There are no "tourist on arrival" visas .

VOA's are only available, on payment, to a very few from qualifying countries.

You can only get a 7 day extension of a 30 day visa exempt entry which is not a tourist visa.

Only a 60 day entry from a tourist visa can be extended.

You should get a tourist visa from a Thai embassy or consulate before you travel.

Wait let me clarify. My nationality is American. When I arrive at the Airport I get a 30 day

tourist visa on arrival as I have done many times. But I have to stay longer than 30 days. You

can pay 2000 baht for an extension of one month this used to be done at Chaeng Wattana.

The 30 days you get on entry is not a tourist visa it is a visa exempt entry. It has never been possible to get a 30 day extension for one.

Unless you get a tourist visa your choice will be to make a border run or fly out for and back for another 30 day entry,

As has been said, you are entering Thailand on a visa exempt entry for 30 days, not on a tourist visa or a visa on arrival.

You cannot get a 30 day extension on a visa exempt entry and the airline might not even let you board the plane to Thailand without a ticket out of Thailand within 30 days of arrival.

Best is to apply for a tourist visa before you leave for Thailand.

As an American you will get a 30 day visa exempt entry ( NOT a visa)!

This can only be extended for 7 days at a cost of 1900 Bht.

As suggested by others you should obtain a tourist visa before leaving home.
