Kittipong: Moved from Justice Ministry to advisory post.

BANGKOK: -- The Cabinet yesterday approved the transfer of permanent secretary at the Justice Ministry, Kittipong Kittayarak, as adviser to the prime minister, citing he had completed his six-year term.

The transfer was proposed by Justice Minister Chaikasem Nitisiri. "I am afraid that many people might misunderstand the transfer of Kittipong and think he was transferred unfairly. I am repeating here that he is being transferred to a position of equal seniority," Chaikasem said.

Permanent secretary of the Prime Minister's Office Tongthong Chandransu was appointed to replace Kittipong, while PM's adviser Paradorn Pattanatabut would replace Tongthong.

Kittipong has completed his four-year term plus a two-year extension as the top Justice Ministry officer.

Meanwhile, Tongthong, who is also a legal expert, was a candidate for permanent secretary of Justice at the same time as Kittipong.

A source, who asked not to be named, said Kittipong in April submitted a letter to Chaikasem, saying he wanted the advisory post and would not accept another permanent secretary or administrative job as he wanted to dedicate his time to other work.

Kittipong is a member of the Reform Now Network, which has proposed solutions, including national reform for the country to get out of the political impasse.

During a rally of the anti-government People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) that campaigned for support from government officials, Kittipong was the first permanent secretary of a ministry to open the door and talk to PDRC leader Suthep Thaugsuban. Chaikasem denied the transfer was a response to Kittipong's political activities.

In proposing solutions for the country's political woes, Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva on Saturday proposed that Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her Cabinet resign, and the RNN, as a civic network, join hands with the PDRC and work on a plan for national reform.

So long as the new appointee is not related to any Minister or party hack or former Ministers/ persons of interest and certainly not related to the Shinawatra's there's is nothing wrong with the transfer. coffee1.gif

What would be the point of a transfer if you can't bring in some friend or relative?

The caretaker Justice Minister rushes to make the case, that this is unrelated to Khun Kittipong's having talked to Suthep & PDRC, but had anyone yet made that direct allegation ?

Does he perhaps protest too much ? blink.png

Or is it perhaps a sign that PTP's senior politicians now feel, that there has to be a visible justification for posting someone elsewhere, and if so then that at least is progress and a good thing, no more punishment/intimidation-postings or to make way for a well-connected government-supporter of S-clan family-member.

That's a joke, right? You are unaware that anyone made that allegation? I don't believe that.

Or perhaps Mr Kittipong, who is the head of his own political group called Reform Now Network (RNN) asked to be transferred so he could work on it. Did you think of that one?

Mr Kittipong is pro-PDRC without a shadow of a doubt, anti-government beyond a shadow of a doubt, but he is deeply, deeply involved in politics and no one's puppet or fool, particularly The Kamnan's.

There is a nice article about why they did it in the other newspaper.

The 'crisis move' suggestion with minor detail that k. Kittipong might have been in charge of the Ministry of Justice if the caretaker MoJ was forced to resign?
