Capo warns charter court not to overstep its authority

BANGKOK: -- The Centre for the Administration of Peace and Order (Capo) on Tuesday warned the Constitutional Court not to overstep its authority in its delivering of a ruling against caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her cabinet otherwise there may be chaos.

In a statement read by Tarit Pengdit, secretary of Capo, said that the Constitutional Court had already set a precedent when it ruled on the status of then prime minister Samak Sundaravej and only Samak lost his premiership while his cabinet continued to function.

Since Samak’s case and Ms Yingluck’s case are similar, the ruling by the charter court on the latter’s case should be in the same direction – that is the ruling is binding only to the prime minister, said Capo.

Capo charged that there was an attempt by some elements to create political vacuum so that a non-elected prime minister would be appointed to replace Ms Yingluck. It called on the Constitutional Court to do its job in a straightforward manner and to adhere to its ethical code of conduct.

Capo maintained that its warning to the court was not an act of interference in the court’s affairs but merely wanted to pre-empt possible unrest which may result from an unfair ruling.

Whatever they do to these corrupt parasites won’t be enough to stop their desire for money and power….there needs to be real action against any found guilty.

The Shinawatra regime has caused massive damage to so many and this also includes foreigners who live here…Remember Purachai and his crusade

I am sick of having 20,000 GBP locked up in a bank account, just to show for a year retirement visa that is a combi of 89 day stays…I know all about going to Immigration blah blah blah …

Get rid of the scum

What was Samak kicked out for? Receiving 5,000 Baht for appearing on a cookery programme in a previous piece of blatantly political interference from the courts.

Tarit was effectively a civil servant who was openly critical of the government. He had to go.

(still) caretaker Dept. PM, MoFA and chief CAPO advisor Surapong will have another session to explain the warning to foreign envoys, diplomats and so, I guess?

BTW good to see Tarit is still only a messenger boy to CAPO like he said he was in CRES.

He lied to the court about it:

Stick to football . . . your ideas of Politics are inane . . . Samak was kicked out for BREAKING THE LAW, simple as that.

Wow. Only in Thailand. An organization tells a court what to do! Amazing Thailand. alt=blink.png>

They seem to be very fond of intimidation, they are not used to someone questioning their integrity or giving orders, unfortunately, little do the spivs know ,in a democracy , they work for the people, therein lies the problem.

Threaten the court is a serious crime. All CAPO should be put to jail for giving such statement.

exactly why this country needs reform, we have the bully tactics from PTP trying to threaten and sway the judgement of a court - they just don't quite grasp the concept that this is fundamentally wrong no matter how you look at it, anyone making such threats should be arrested and jailed, if a court could be swayed with such tactics there would be no point in having a court/judicial system at all

The court should disband the whole lot of these useless bent cretins today - Thailand would be a much better place with them.

Next investigate all of them and expose the stolen billions they extorted from the Thai people and lock them up for life

It's time for NACC to start investigating CAPO.

Exactly where is the money going?

On what authority can CAPO advise, caution, or even threaten the Justice system?

A lot of the money, apparently, has gone on 5 star food and drink.

The law is applied partially. Why no investigation of Suthep's shady land deals when he was deputy PM? Why- because he's on the 'right' side (in every sense of the word.

Suthep land scandal made the whole government to fall:

" He has come under fire during his political career before, most notably in 1995 when he was accused of giving the rich land rights under a land reform programme meant for the poor. The fall out led then-PM Chuan Leekpai to dissolve parliament."
