I-mobile IQX3 screen problem

Featured Replies

I don't what happened but yesterday the colours started looking a little strange and within fifteen minutes the screen was jumping around and it became unusable. The phone is only four months old and it's been perfect up until now.

Not the result of a drop so could it be a lemon that needs replacing. Has any one else had this issue with a phone, regardless of brand?

It's the same problem as this guy's phone in the video.

Some of the comments say about brightness levels can fix this issue but I'm dubious about that.

I'll be posting it up to Bangkok tomorrow, does anyone know which is the main service centre?

Maybe try doing a reset before you post it up.. just to see if that sorts it.

I managed to back the whole phone up with Titanium Backup and transfer it to my laptop before doing a complete factory reset to see if that helped, it didn't.

I'll pop home in a minute to see if the brightness settings have any effect but after looking around Android forums it is probably a broken digitizer.

Update: I just switched my phone on again and the problem has gotten worse. Just apps opening and closing on their own accord. Maybe a ghost in the machine or just a buggered up phone.

I'll send it up to BKK later today.

Should be under one a year warranty unless you bought one of the cheap gray market models. Usually the gray-market shops will provide labor but you must pay for any parts required. Good luck getting it fixed.

I mobile will replace it if they can't fix it and you haven't managed to void the warranty

I'm a little worried about that as I was playing around with different ROMs and couldn't replace the CWM recovery as I couldn't do anything with the screen. I managed to do a full factory reset and wipe all my files but that could void the warranty if a jobsworth reports it.

If they notice and want payment, I'll just buy a cheap Chinese landfill android to tide me over for the next few months rather than pay for parts and labour.
