GeorgeO Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 HOT TOPIC ALERT! This one is going to ignite ThaiVisa today. Big question, will any of them respond....or are they even in the country right now? Does Prayuth know what he 's doing, a bleak future for all of us. Only if you're a Shin. ... or one of his puppets...!!
Thaddeus Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Military Junta .... just where on earth do you think your living ? right or wrong you get summoned by any junta if .... if you have any sense innocent or guilty you dont wait, you get out while you can. If you haven't done anything wrong .... why?

Piichai Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 The military is announcing 100 names of people that must report to the military. Am wondering if some of the recently found cache holders have begun to sing. 1
Popular Post rosst Posted May 23, 2014 Popular Post Posted May 23, 2014 Love it, keep the pressure on - next they need the camel herder back here and under key as well. Go army. First things first, take their passports and demand records of all assets and bank accounts in and out of Thailand. Freeze all assets they can get their hands on and ask the anti corruption watchdog to go for the throat. I am hoping the Generals declare a number of these people persona non gratis with regard to nominating for political election and then vet the nominations and hold elections. I am certain there are elements in P T who will welcome a clean out. Sad that it needed a coup, I was hoping it could be sorted out some other way but they left the military no choice. The only condemnation you will hear is from outside Thailand. 3
BlueSkyCowboy Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Wouldn't it be helpful for once if the US and that quite ineffective outfit, the UN actually understood a situation and supported it or at least remained neutral rather than condone it? We have been putting up with Suthep's and Jaturong's nonense for far too long and it has impacted our business and personal lives for the worse as the country suffers. So, Mr Kerry and Mr Moon, wake up and think and spare a thought for the real people who have been trying to make an honest living and have suffered for months because of this impasse. As you obviously can't help the situation, you really should keep quiet. The Mekhong river hero hahaha Kerry and his pal Barry Soetero, my God, the scum Clinton etc we don't need their advise, NOBODY needs their advise
Piichai Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 What happens to Suthep and cronies ? The PDRC supporters I've talked with this morning seem to be in good spirits.

I can tell you for a fact there have been significantly more arms found than have been made public. 2
Popular Post siampolee Posted May 23, 2014 Popular Post Posted May 23, 2014 Thai army summons ex-PM Yingluck, others in Thaksin clan It would seem as if that saying " as you sow so ye shall reap"" is now coming to bear upon the Shinwatra clan and their ilk. This whole current situation is down to Thaksin and his ilks relentless pursuit of absolute power and insatiable greed, nothing more nothing less. Papa Thaksin with his Red Shirts would indeed have been a seamless metamorphic process from Papa Doc Duvalier and his Ton Ton Macoute enforcers had the Shinwatra clan continued their Thailand takeover plan. 3
Seastallion Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script> Thailand: 1. Army stages a coup. 2. Army appoint a Democrat (=Yellow) PM and a Democrat Government. 3. Thai citizens are not happy with the PM/Government and ask for elections. 4. Elections are hold and the winner are the Red's. 5. Democrats are not happy and stage a protest. 6. Go back to step 1 You realize this is not what happened right? Missed a few steps and got a few wrong But the message is solid. This is only going to start it all over again. Not if the reforms are well structured and put in place. That's the main difference now, that both sides agree that rigourous reforms need to be crafted. Of course, PTP one side may be only paying lip-service to any reforms that hinder money politics and graft, but nonetheless, Citizen Joe Somchai is waking up and demanding the cycle be broken. 1

Popular Post Scamper Posted May 23, 2014 Popular Post Posted May 23, 2014 This extraordinary period in Thai history continues to set a new pace, as developments unfold quickly. Trying to sift through the news is the main challenge, and trying to verify such reporting in other publications is an added challenge. What we do know is that the Senate is functioning, and that is a key indicator and a very promising one at that. The courts similarly. It will likely take a number of days before things become clearer. The first aspect of the administration of this coup is clearly to secure control. Once that has been established, some path will likely emerge. But it is remarkable the change that has already taken place. There has been no violence or resistance. The PDRC remains jubilant. 3
oops Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 My guess is they will arrest her and her kronies to force Thaskin back to Thailand.
empireboy Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I think the big issue will be what he does about Suthep! Does he let the little piece of turd roam free and gloat or does he show some serious impartiality?? 1
Popular Post smedly Posted May 23, 2014 Popular Post Posted May 23, 2014 I could understand all this if the intention was to lock them all in a room until they had a solution that they were all agreed on. But its a job to understand where all this is going Sent from my Nexus 4 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app I think this coup was staged far too early. It looks like the general is used to getting things done quickly and doesn't understand the slow process of negotiation. The martial law was fine and maybe could have been earlier as it could stop more bloodshed and allow things to cool to give time for talks. It's a pity in some ways that Yingluck isn't still caretaker PM. She's no worse than could be expected without any experience but she does seem to be less confrontational. If they could have got her into negotiations without access to Thaksin then they might have got somewhere. If it were her and Abhisit who is also more likely to compromise than Suthep that might have brought results. Maybe they'll try to do something to encourage talks now they've shown they're serious. I won't hold my breath though. I perhaps do understand a little of what you are saying but also consider this The stalemate has not been going on for a few days - it has been 6 months Several key things needed to happen to move forward and Prayuth tabled those at the head of the meeting and got a negative response PTP to immediately resign was the key one - this would have allowed all those concerned to get round the table and work out a path forward together all inclusive For me this was not a debateable option - it had to happen PTP for six months now have repeatedly refused to compromise on any front in fact they have done the complete opposite and tried every underhand way possible to intimidate - the generally peaceful - anti government supporters causing 27 deaths and massive numbers of injuries If you are a trained negotiator there are some things called roadblocks to the process that must be removed The Process - Negotiable The Reforms - negotiable The Election date - negotiable One side in power and unwilling to compromise - Road Block The stability of the country - not Negotiable - needed action to pay the farmers etc This could easily have turned out differently I am neither red or any other colour I am pro Thai people and I know the difference between what is right and what is wrong and in my opinion PTP were just wrong, they will now be investigated and the government books audited - if my gut feel is correct it will uncover the biggest scandal and unabated theft by corruption SE Asia has ever seen - but will see 10
siampolee Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 NPOMC orders YIngluck, Yaowapa, 21 others to report themselves One wonders whether those aforementioned might not form a choir and make this their theme song.
oops Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Probably needs them all together so they can finally sort things out. Would be funny if they d sent out a task force and pick up the 'puppetmaster'. I think they will charge her with something then arrest her in hopes it will force Thasken back to Thailand.

Popular Post Imunatee Watchalotaporn Posted May 23, 2014 Popular Post Posted May 23, 2014 It’s not that we don’t believe in democracy, it’s just that for the sake of the nation we can only allow democracy that selects the right people. Our history has proven to us over and over than the work of good men is the only proven source of prosperity, and any threats to that prosperity must be eradicated. Thaksin and any party under his control is a republican movement that uses carefully staged propaganda and the allure of a charismatic personality to cover up the truth. The sad thing is that the truth is readily available to anyone who is willing to look beyond his bubble of like-minded peers and read some actual history. But they’re too brainwashed to accept the fact that their hero is an autocrat, a self-serving elitist, and a collaborator with foreign powers. 8

Soutpeel Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Can't wait to see what the Army does when Yingers doesn't turn up at 10.00 am. It's going to be class! They may give Chalerm "a pass" as one suspects he hasn't sobered up from the night before by 10:00am... If the story is true..dear Yinger's is in Singapore, so we shall see....she may appear at 10:00am on Skype or Face time...
bkkjames Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Due to report in 30 mins... wonder how many of the list will show up.
edwinchester Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I have heard that Tarit has already signed the arrest warrants for the PTP cabinet and the Shinawatra family Sent from my Nexus 4 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app "I have heard...."I think the mods made it pretty clear that rumor has no place on this forum. Can you please substantiate your assertion? My suggestion is that your post be deleted unto you can come up with something better than "I have heard..." That post soared way over your head right? 1

It would indeed be an interesting post to see you explain why you pursue a campaign of relentless support of a corrupt convicted bail jumping felon and his dictatorial aims. No doubt Saint Scargill speaks to you and advises you in your sleep. 1
