Some really important details missing here:

1. Will she be able to use her Skype account?

2. Will they organize daily shopping excursions?

Oh for Christ's sake, give these moronically irrelevant, weak-kneed cheap shots a bluddy rest will ya ?

I remember many of you making jokes about her fleeing the country in a plane with 20 luggage bags or so.

But she actually had the courage to present herself to the army.

Respect!

Not sure she had that many options. Save your respect for those who really deserve it.

a disgrace...

You bet it is3 to 7 days!!!

I was hoping for 3 to 7 years.

I love the photo though. The caption could be the General saying "This will be were you will be detained for destroying Thailand"

Ohhhh accountability. The PTP's nightmare.

I bet she wished she didn't hold the majority in contempt when she pushed the amnesty bill through now against the will of the majority.

A disgrace is an understatement. She should at least hold her until the NACC rice scheme case is heard then she can't run away when she is found guilty and can go straight to jail.

Bare-faced hypocrisy from someone who goes on forever, endlessly about the principles of democracy and appropriate process ( but apparently only believes it when it's convenient)

Considering that being a flight risk runs in her family, arrest without bail seems appropriate to me.

This is disgraceful. The shiniwatra's are not the originators of corruption in thailand. It always was and still is even down to the education system and government funcionaries. Those of you that are crowing over 'the demise of the shin clan' are misogynist to the core just like the establishment in Thailand. She may have made mistakes but that is not the point. She was no worse a premier than any others and she was democratically elected all other arguments are academic. Why are Suthep and other's charged like him not in custody? the answers clear. Corruption!

How do you know Suthep is not being detained?

That smiling girl is 'Pancake' Thai actress/model/present....don't ya know ur celebraties, she's on channel 7.

I can easily tell while reading all your opinions, that which ones of you married / have RED gf / wives from Issan or the north. These people will only breathe on their term of 'democracy'... that only election is an answer.

In RED democracy, all you would hear is... military coup is bad, army is bad etc... They would call all these coup things illegal, unauthorised military... But still, once the authorised judgement from the authorised court came out, none of them accepted it.

And not only don't accept; they came to the judges, knocking the door and threaten to harm them and their families for judging their side of politicians' corruption crimes.

Have your RED gf/wives told you these???

Since you guys are not native Thai, let me tell you what happen every time your democracy pet so-call 'elections' took place. There would be someone knocking my door, and every doors in the town/ village/ cities ... and offer how much money the household would get if we elect xxx ? Like an auction for the votes.

Now, Thailand is facing the greatest corruption in our history based on democracy system.

But all you guys saying is... Go get election !!!

I don't think so...

I suspect that you are one of those yellow shirt rich guys. All the morality of a hungry rat. Don't like democracy becuase it does not suit you when the person you want in office is not elected. Shame on you.

What's the difference with a Conservative canvasser knocking my door in the UK and saying "Vote for us and we'll give you big tax cuts" (Or labour/Liberal - just to remove any bias). Isn't that a bribe in the same sense, particularly when the renege on the promise!.

Do little research on raising the minimum wage in the UK, and then compare that to the recent minimum wage increase in Thailand.

Most women do. I use to wear the uniform and it was such an effort to keep the ladies under control. ;)

I agree, the coup and the instant detainment of the parties there left no time for her to jump on a jet with suitcases full of cash. If she had been at home during the announcement, things might

have been different. As far as Yingluck being the darling of Isan ( well that may be a bit faded

due to all the angry farmers who have not been paid) , and the red buffaloes rising up in righteous anger from her imprisonment, I think that can easily be countered by releasing information about

her role in the rice scam and other misdeeds. Remember the gloves are off now , no more of

the insane namby pamby libel laws, Prayuth can say what ever he wants.

what a travesty of justice and democracy to let Suthep who brought this country to it's knees go free and detain Thailand's first female PM

Absolute travesty. Thaksin should have been detained years ago and none of this would have happened.

Has anyone here heard from "Moonao" recently? Seems he/she has disappeared from trolling.

I notice he went missing at the same time the Red Sunday Group leader, Sombat Boongamanong famously said "Catch me if you can" Not suggesting they are one and the same because Sombat attacks the post, not the author!!! w00t.gif

He gave a "like" to an earlier post in this thread, but has nothing to say apparently. Same as Pipkins, RichTeacher and the rest of the rabble rousers.

I feel sort of sad for her in a way. Thaksin in essence forced her into this position, and

then gave her skype instructions on how to loot the country. What at first seemed

like power and free shopping trips abroad has now turned horribly wrong for her..

hum... isn't 'horribly wrong' a little bit of an overstatement ?

I recently read on another TV post the story of a 14 year old Thai boy who was arrested because he was accused of having stolen a golden necklace. When his uncle went to the police station to enquire he saw the boy hanging by his wrists and with wires attached to his legs. The family had no money and could do nothing. The interrogation went on for another few hours and then the lady found her necklace... I would call that horribly wrong.

Internationally, the detention of Yingluck will be a Public Relations disaster for the Generals.

Domestically, she is still popular in the provinces, and this will only lead to inflame her supporters.

For shure

Prayuth has been quick to give a time frame for the detentions. He is seeking a way to appease disparate factions by locking their leaders up in a room together away from advisors and other influences in the hope of hammering out a power sharing deal. His curtailment of elections on the one hand and the refusal to let senators try to appoint a PM on the other suggests a desire to not let any faction carry the day on its own.

Look at it like the mother of all team-building exercises. If he is successful, there will be peace at least for a while and this episode will become an international case study in conflict resolution. If he fails - which means some participants will have remained intransigent under the imposed environment - the consequences will probably include violence on the streets. The stakes are high, but at least for now there is a chance which arguably there wasn't prior to this coup.

As for democracy, it is a prize these people haven't appeared to earn yet.

so why not lock up the Senate President as well?

3-7 days. Wow. First sides are told to negotiate in less than six hours over two days. Now the vile Shins puppet government shopping teary eyed Dubai clan is going to NOT be uprooted, nor their limitless suitcases confiscated, nor their facebook pages removed, nor their orangutans tickled, nor their poodles pooled, nor their skins inflicted with rashes.

Wah. I can hear it now.

"But Prayuth could have saved the whole country....now...now...all my predictions came untrue."

Wah!

You should pack your bags and go back to your country and try to flood people with your horrible racist insults, if you hate Thai people in this way .

Thais are not orangutans, i guess you can't do it in your country, because you will be arrested. Racial insults and hatre in civilized countries is forbidden. That's why you throw out all your racist insults here.

The lady looks like the wife of the CO Mukdahan. See the nose job and the dark glasses? Not certain but is familiar.
