It is very sad when a young man dies in suspicious circumstances. We all go to Fantasy land to enjoy all it has to offer but we must always be very careful not to trust anyone and to avoid taking unnecessary risks with unknown drugs and unknown persons . Having fun is fine but not at the cost of your life.

And the fact that he was found dead at a "luxury resort" is relevant how?

maybe its relevant because it is stating the truth.... that the victim was indeed staying at a 5 start luxury resort and was found dead.

Never seen on any Falang or Thai death ..Man found dead in low budget room?giggle.gif

hopefully he felt no pain in his passing

Wow, what an incredible leap logic!

There is nothing "suspicious" here at all at this point although the circumstances are unknown. They may turn out to be suspicious or they may not.

As far as the "Fantasy land" comments this suggests that you are living in one of your own.

Cheers

Agreed best to stick to facts in cases like this rather than assumptions

Hello cgphuket.

I'm sure that his family and friends back in Oz are relieved that the headline and story say that he was found dead at a "luxury resort". If the journalist had simply said that the man had been found dead in an hotel room, it would have been all too easy, for those who like to gossip and speculate, to assume that it must have been a cheap hotel and therefore, by implication, that he must have been a sex tourist.

Of course, working girls do get invited back to plush hotels, but most readers of this story and headline, which will probably be copied verbatim by the Aussie newspapers, are likely to give him the benefit of the doubt on the information provided so far. The fact that he was in Samui rather than in Phuket must help too.

There isn't anything to suggest the death is suspicious. Maybe he just died of something simple like a heart attack. It's a mystery at this stage, but not suspicious.

Pattaya is Fantasy Land. Sex tourists go there to realise their fantasies!! When the circumstances of death are unknown, suspicion arises! The autopsy report shall reveal the truth!!

Pattaya ????

That might be true, but the man wasn't in Pattaya, so why are you mentioning it? Have you actually read the story. Or maybe you've never been t Thailand and think the whole country is called Pattaya. Quit before you make yourself look even more stupid.

Maybe you are reading a different story and replying under another story either that or I am really baffled

The only thing that will fairly determine the cause of death will be a toxicologist-investigation which would mean the deceased needs to be return to Australia as soon as possible since Thailand effectively doesn’t have the capacity to independently conduct one. I doubt whether lessons have been learnt regarding from the outcome of the two Canadian girls who died on Phi Phi island several years back.

The use of herbicides could again be the root cause. However, popping sleeping pills combined with the use of alcohol could be a distinct possibility.

Never said suspicious says "mysterious" because he wasn't bashed or robbed, very true statement for Thailand I reckon. Perhaps he had a stroke or a massive heart attack or OD'd. Why is it when someone dies especially here people are so quick to point the finger? Truth is we really know nothing from this article besides the fact he was found dead in his room everything else is pure speculation at this point....coffee1.gif

Not a Resort, a small private luxury beach side Villa. A friend had been trying to contact him for several hours and eventually asked the villa owner to go with him and open the villa and check, which they did when they found him.

Calling a member stupid is not mandatory for a little mistake since the headline was in PattayaDailyNews

Regrettably, there is no coroner's court in Thailand. Deaths like this bring a very bad name to Thailand and scare away tourists , so the police must investigate how and when he died. Most unlikely to have suicided on sleeping pills! But we should not have to speculate on the cause of death. The family deserve the truth and quickly to minimise the stress they are already suffering.

Understand what you are saying problem is the longer the body has been there the harder the autopsy
