Phuket service launched for UK visas

PHUKET: -- Freight forwarding and courier company Phuket Universal Services Co Ltd (Pusco), near the Mercedes-Benz showroom on Thepkrasattri Rd, is now accepting applications for visas to enter Britain.

The new service follows the April 21 announcement by the British Embassy in Bangkok that it has entered into a partnership with VFS (Thailand) Ltd in a bid to improve the its visa-issuing service. VFS will from now on receive and return applications for all types of UK visa.

VFS has appointed Pusco as its agent in Phuket, and staff at Pusco will check that each visa application includes all the required documents before forwarding it to the VFS Visa Application Center in Bangkok, which in turn will pass applications to the embassy.

The service fee for a visa application made in Phuket is Bt1,075, which includes courier charges of Bt620, but not the embassy's fee for the visa itself, which varies depending on the type of visa applied for.

Payment in full must be made at the time of application, in the form of a demand draft made payable to "VFS Thailand Ltd".

More information is available at www.britishembassy.gov.uk or www.ukvac-th.com.
