Brazil are hoping that David Luiz will shake off a back strain and be fit to start this, the first game of the knockout stages of World Cup 2014.

Chile are monitoring the fitness of Cardiff's Gary Mendel, who was forced to sit out training earlier in the week.

Potentially a very exciting game awaits. Brazil have looked good so far, although they could do better and even drew a group game against Mexico earlier in the tournament. The hosts will still be slight favourites going into this one.

Chile have so far been one of the success stories of the tournament. Their brand of attacking football means that when they are truly at their best they are fantastic to watch and almost impossible to contain - just ask Spain.

If you like rooting for the undergo, get behind Chile, as one of the greatest upsets in World Cup history might be on the cards with this one. Either way, expect goals.

Thanks Scarf, really looking forward to this, let's hope the ref is impartial,i think it may be Howard Webb, massive if Chile win, going into it i cannot see a clear favorite.

Doesn't seem to be on any of the Thai local channels.

Strange?

Channel anyone?

Anyone?

NO?

Ah, found it.

Standard Thai channel 8.

Channel anyone?

Anyone?

NO?

True has it on Ch668.

CTH has it on Ch37 (Ch8 HD).

Can't see it on any of the usual local channels - 3/5/7/9.

Chile look a bit shell shocked. Can be ugly if they don't shape up.

As this obviously isn't on any analogue terrestrial channel, has the national happiness index just dropped a few points?

LoL

Ch8 have an Android app... oh... no they haven't as it links back to Apple.

I'll download both games in the morning.

Go Chile!!

A lot of individual errors from especially the Chile players, which result in several counter attacks, and almost goals.

Luckily the Brazilian arrogance allows for the same, resulting in Chile almost scoring on several occasions.

Hoping for Chile, but afraid Brazil with all their talent will do it.

Hope Brasil lose; so they can concentrate to be the perfect host for the worldcup...

thank you very much!!

I think the disallowed goal should have stood, looked like it came off his shoulder.

Howard Webb will need police protection if Brazil lose this now. 1zgarz5.gif.pagespeed.ce.GJfs_tQOQ-.gif

Can only imagine hov tired these players must be after 120 minutes.

What a crap game. But Webb was right over the Hulk handball.

Brazil don't look the real deal and my heart goes out to Chile but why can't ' professional ' footballers take penalties.

The star for me was the Chilean manager pacing up and down the technical area like a caged lion.

It's quite sad for such a worthy "underdog" to lose like that. On the other hand, it's more interesting to have Brazil in this longer in Brazil ... but I hope they don't win in the end.

The games were always shown on Channel 5 in my room. Last night Channel 5 didn't show the 11pm game. In fact none of the free channels showed the game at 11. Why is this? Do I need HD? I just have a crappy TV.

It's on channel eight.

There is no channel 8. 3,5,7,9,11 and tpbs. I could not find the game last night on any of the Thai TV channels.

Why indeed can't professional footballers take penalties. I was lucky enough to meet Le God at St Mary's a few years ago and the world's greatest penalty taker told me how he managed to score all but one of his penalties for Southampton. I've tried it since and it works! It's not rocket science and it most certainly is not luck but all down to technique and holding your nerve. I just wish I'd known it years earlier.

There is but it's carried on CTH and probably other systems,it's not a thai free to air channel like 3,5 and 7 meaning you don't receive it through just an antenna.

They can take penalties, but some players buckle under the immense pressure.

They have the technical ability, but some don't have the physiological ability to stay focused.
