Hi all

Been looking & see there are some educated peeps with regards to obtaining UK visas on here & would like any advice please.

I have been with my girlfriend (now wife) for two and a half years + we met in a bar & kicked off as most with emails, sms, calls & after about 6 months i started sending WU funds. I have all docs to back this up. Been back to see her 14 times in total.

Last year in december i came to live with her in BBK as she was expecting, we had a son in March this year. I lived in BBk from Dec to May to support her during pregnancy. Now back in UK.

I have two children in UK, 7 & 3 years. She has one in BBK 10 years. Both divorced & now been married for around three months. She is now in our rented house in BBK & i am back here in UK working & arranging suitable accomadation. Working & earn about 4k per month.

Ok so like all fellas i am very worried about the visa issues.

I think i have everything covered only problem is no decent savings & when i apply will only have been in UK for three months. Think i will have about 2 or 3k in the bank when applying. I do have a friend & familys support however no big dosh there either. Mothers house is rented although friend does own property.

Our son will have a British Passport shortly (hope!)

Shes 35 i am 34.

Few questions:

Is there a amount they like to see in the bank?

Should my wife admit in the interview where we met?

What should she wear to the interview?

Should i have letters from her family saying they would sell the farm in order to help if prob arise?

Should i go to the interview with her & should she take my son?

Should i have a letter from Ex wife stating i do & always have provided financially etc?

Would it help to have my own place rented or get a letter from mother stating we can stay here?

Heard storied of secret lists the embassy want, is this true if so what is it lol?

Are there any tips or tricks that help the application?

Is it true that as my son will have a UK PPort they cannot deny her the visa?

This visa stuff is crazy, dont know if i am worrying to much or what, please anyone all advise is more than welcome.

Cheers all!

Hi Connor,

I wouldn't worry too much about the financial aspect. If you have an income of £4000.00 per month, the embassy is going to find it difficult to suggest that is not enough. Savings are not really important as long as your income is sufficient to take care of the family unit.

Accommodation-wise, if you have a rented flat/house that should be fine. You should submit your tenancy agreement and a letter from the landlord confirming that he is content for your wife and son to live with you.

I can understand your reticence to disclose where you met your wife, but this should be more than outweighed by the length of time that you have known each other. Therefore, if asked, your wife should disclose the circumstances in which you met. Make sure you emphasize in your covering letter the number of times you have been to visit her and that you lived together for 6 months. If possible, your wife should provide evidence of your cohabitation.

Although you have a child together who is a Brit. cit., the embassy can still refuse your wife's application. However, the very fact that you have a child is good evidence that your relationship is genuine.

I don't think you need to submit evidence either from your ex-wife or your wife's family and there is no secret list. It is possible your wife's visa might be issued on the basis of the evidence submitted, but if she is called for interview, she should attend dressed relatively smartly. There's no point in you going unless she wants her hand holding. You won't even be allowed inside.

Cheers,

Scouse.
