CTH

Is anyone else in Chiang Mai experiencing interference on their TV, CTH package? We called for an engineer who came out promptly, he said it was caused by the poor weather interfering with the satellite over Vietnam! He twiddled some of the remote buttons, we paid him 500 baht and he left. Sadly the picture is worse than it was before, any suggestions please? Cheers.

I know it is of no help to you, but the picture is fine here in Pattaya!!

The weather forecast in your part of the world appears dire - based on the weather warnings - so maybe the engineer's comments had a grain of truth.

Anyway, if you are a Spurs fan you should count yourself lucky!!

I live down south from you , and if there is the slightest bit of wind / rain my reception turns to s%^t.

Moved to CM forum.

NancyL, sorry to hear of your problems with reception. How big is your dish?

You can by a big one of over one meter in diameter for a few thousand baht or less and probably use the same LNB. It did wonders for me. The standard toy dishes don't gather enough signal when the sky is overcast. Now with a larger dish, the only time I get a complete blackout is when there is a very thick black cloud blocking the dish e.g. a thunderstorm.

No problem for me, right in town, although there has been a small line of about ten letters near the top of the screen that flash on and off. It's right under the score box on the football, has anyone else got that?

Are NancyL and Nancy7 one and the same?

That was a typo on my part. I meant to refer to the OP.

Nope, Nancy7 isn't me. We gave up on a Vietnamese satellite TV a couple years ago for this (and other) reasons.

It's a code to do with decryption and yes, I think you'll find everyone gets it. We certainly do on BeIn Sports and others have mentioned it on CTH.

Now now ... asking a lady how big her dish is ??????

I just receive it via IPTV,stream it from the PC to tv,

no need for dishes or boxes.

regards Worgeordie

I had those letters on the screen for some days last week. Then I turned the box off at the plug and rebooted....and presto...No more letters.
