Laem Son National Marine Park reopens to tourists

RANONG, 1 October 2014 (NNT) - The Laem Son National Marine Park in Ranong province has officially opened once again after having been closed off by park officials for more than three months.

Head of the Laem Son National Marine Park Wikrant Thuaduang revealed that the marine park and all of its surrounding islands had been temporarily shut down in order to restore the ecological system. The park is a popular spot for tourists to snorkel in shallow waters.

The park’s closure was also due to strong waves in the Andaman Sea during the rainy reason. Waves have reportedly reached higher than 3 meters. For these reasons, the park was declared closed for tourists’ safety.

As of today, however, the park reopens again for tourists to enjoy sightseeing or go snorkeling across various islands within the vicinity of Laem Son National Marine Park.
