Popular Post webfact
AirAsia kicks man off flight for carry-on rage (VIDEO)By Coconuts BangkokBANGKOK: -- A man was kicked off a domestic flight to Bangkok yesterday after he threw a tantrum over the overweight carry-on bag he’d thrown out the door. The unidentified passenger had boarded the flight from Nakhon Sri Thammarat when the cabin crew decided to weigh his bag, which they then told him was too heavy to board the plane. So the passenger got rid of it by chucking it out the cabin door, simple as that."Do I have weapons? You have no right to banish me from the plane!” he shouts in a video capturing the moment. “What rule states I cannot get on the plane? Because I shout?!"While most of us have shamelessly carried aboard a bag heavier than seven kilograms (all trying to make it look smaller and lighter than it really is), weight checks can and do happen. Popular Post trd
So what is supposed to happen if you are already on the plane. What is airline policy. You wouldn't travel without your belongings, so would you disembark. Catch another flight with the same overweight bag?

Popular Post mesquite
I've never heard of the cabin crew weighing a bag after the passenger has boarded. It's always done at check-in, if at all. I'd be angry, too. Edited October 20, 2014 by mesquite

Popular Post smedly
I travel with a laptop bag that weighs in at over 13 kilo, the laptop and power brick alone weigh over 7 I was challenged once and when I removed the laptop and power supply they realised I could never get it below 7kilo and there was no way the laptop was going into checked baggage so they abandoned any challenge they were thinking, I travel light no other bags or luggage only - happened once in over 60 flights If a bag fits in the overhead locker what's the problem = I've seen people boarding flights with two small cases and a pile of other %%%%% unchallenged In saying that this guy should have been arrested and thrown off the plane and banned from travel - a rude mouth piece Edited October 20, 2014 by smedly
Popular Post garrya
Moron Why? Most of the Thais travel with overweight and, especially, oversized hand luggage. Why did they have to pick on this fellow? Just a usual AirAsia rubbish. Luckily they are on the losing end as the Nokair and Lionair are gathering grounds.

I'd be angry, too. Got "caught out" at Security Screening once and sent back to airline counter to check the bag... nearly missed the flight... I always wondered what it had to do with Security Contractor personnel at screening 'cos they sure are not agents for the airline(s) and I can see only a tenuous duty of care liability should the 8.5 kilo bag have fallen out in flight, whatever!

Popular Post trainman34014
Tosspot ! In my opinion airlines allow way too much on board baggage most of the time. People pushing through the isles banging into others all around them and then holding up others following them by blocking the aisle whilst they get everything but the kitchen sink stowed. Heavy luggage plonked on top of others small and sensible carry on already in lockers and so on. A lot of it is just because people are too lazy to check luggage in and wait for it at the other end. Time the check-in counters got more on the ball and insisted on weighing ALL baggage.

Popular Post Fozfromoz
Trainman you beat me to it! Its a problem that is getting worse everywhere, not just Thailand. The crap that some people bring on. Anything smaller than a block of flats is OK. Its compounded by the fact that people these days dont want to check in luggage as it slows them down at the destination so they bring it on board. Frustrating when you aren't one of the first to board, and find all of the overhead lockers full, plane not full. If they are going to enforce it, it should be consistent. This bloke is an absolute tool. Edited October 20, 2014 by Fozfromoz

Popular Post Pattaya28
This kind of Thai is used to doing what he wants when he wants. The kind of guy that has total disregard for rules and the law. The kind of guy that rides his motor-bike through red lights. Good ending. scorecard
<script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script> Moron Why? Most of the Thais travel with overweight and, especially, oversized hand luggage. Why did they have to pick on this fellow? Just a usual AirAsia rubbish. Luckily they are on the losing end as the Nokair and Lionair are gathering grounds. In another report it says that his main 'hand carry' bag was too big (by measurements) to be put into the overhead locker. There is of course the question of how come he got on board with such oversize (by measurements) luggage? It would be interesting to know if he was a first time flyer and was unaware of the whole luggage picture. But if he's a regular air traveler then he's just playing a silly game, and a moron.

Popular Post Commerce
I thought the staff acted very professionally in containing the situation. They should be rewarded for doing a job BEYOND THEIR NORMAL expectations, for which they are not offered rewards. The plonker obviously thought he was very important; thus, he had to record everything about the staffing confrontation, whilst they spoke to him in a kind manner, and when he was abusive and threatening believing himself to be right. Was he Thai? Surely, Shirley, a Thai couldn't do such a thing? Rules are rules: certainly concerning aircraft. He was in the wrong, and I'm glad some passengers recorded such, as he's now an internet and youtube star in the realms of 'IDIOT ON A PLANE'. He must be a big banker, or similar.

When they are on the plane, their choice is removed, and they are forced to pay. I'm sure the airline is aware of this and that's why they do it.
