Hi All.

Hoping for some advice.

Can anyone recommend a competitive store in Udon or Nong Kai offering the best discounts for LCD Panel Televisions?

How much would a good 81cm LED LCD set you back?

Prefer something reasonable like a Samsung, LG, or Panasonic rather than a no name brand set.

Basically for free to air, basic satellite cable and DVD playback.

Not sure whether to lash out for Full HD or would HD be sufficient.

Mainly for bedroom use and anything will be better than the parlous little CRT currently being used.

In Oz you can pick up a Samsung 81CM HD LED LCD TV for around 9,900bht, or less with haggle.

Many thanks.

One bit of advice, many metric countries like thailand do tvs in inches.

I know what you mean but many won't.

If you want a 32" try tescos, big c, power buy etc, lots of good deals.

Ask any of them for 81cm and you will be quoted 50k+ but it will be bigger than you expect.

Thanks IMHO & inner.

Going by the links it looks like I'd be up for around 13,000 for a good name brand 32".

Less than this and you end up with a sub Full HD.

Is Full HD important in Thailand?

The answer to that is... depends.

If you are only going to be watching broadcast or IPTV, no. Even the best for picture quality (truevisions) is only 1080i - which quality wise is more or less comparable to 720P. You only really need 1080P if you are going to be viewing 1080P sources, like bluray, ps4/xbox one, or from a PC.

The other 'depends' is your sitting distance - 32" is a pretty small screen, so you'd need to be sitting very close to it to get full benefit of full HD (1920x1080 pixels).

Side note: It appears it's not a good time to buy a new TV - just had a look at some links and all the good promotions seem to have gone. Must be a new year thing. There was still some good promotions going when I first responded to your post.. :(

If we're going HD only then this one at Special Offers: Best Price at THB 7,990 is pretty close.

Although, apart from the extra USB port & wavy black line picture, I can't see what the difference is.
