I just had a look at the Phuket News and Events page and noticed that there no fewer than 6 positive results involving the police on that one page!

Way to go BIB! thumbsup.gif

In all fairness, they have stepped up their game, since the army arrived.

I say this with a caution, because the army are overseeing them, but that aside, I have noticed, in the media, the arrest rate seems to have increased, particularly in relation to guns, and that's a good thing. A positive thing. So there you go - a positive BiB thing. :)

Also, I will admit, the beach encroachment action was surprising to me. However, once again, since when should the police doing their job be a surprise to anybody?

In any case, personally, I hope the army stay, and they keep making sure the police do they job.

They are really targeting locals and Burmese at the moment.

Today was the first checkpoint I went through where they were waving westerners through and stopping all Thais and searching.

It's obviously increased security for the high season and beach games.
