Fast and reliable internet connection?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I'm planning a trip to Thailand early next year for 2 months and I would like to know how the internet connection is down there. I will be doing some work during my stay and need to be able to download and upload big files. I found a villa which has ADSL broadband 10mb/s down and 512kb/s up. Now the question is would this be enough? What are the actual speeds going to be like?

I currently have (in Sweden) 24mb/s down and 1mb/s up, but the real speeds are more like 1,2mb/s down and 140kb/s up which isn't great but works okay.

I read somewhere that Thailand has good speed within the country but not internationally? I think it was an old article so maybe this has changed?

Any help in the matter is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Given your true speeds in Sweden, I think you will be fine here. The proposed/real speed ratio here seems to be much better. I am speaking for my connection in Patong ob 3BB.

See if you can pick a server in California.
