Two Cars Burn Down in New Year's Day Blaze

CHIANG MAI — Two high-end cars were burned to crisp in Chiang Mai province on New Year’s day in a fire that police suspect was caused by a sky lantern or firework.

The owners of the vehicles were spending New Year’s Day at a neighbour’s house when their garage caught on fire.

If, as reported in the linked article, 2 incinerated cars resulted in 100,000B damage, they were not high end cars. Maybe the "reporter" missed a zero or two.

I though only buildings burned 'down'!

Maybe they mean't "classic cars", the one on the right I believe is a Fiat 124 Coupe and the one on the left a Peugeot 204, both from the 60's.

Classic they maybe but high end they are not. There is over 100,000 bat damage to the house alone.

Let's hope it was an accidental burning. Would not like to think Thais were aping the French where 940 vehicles were torched on New Years Eve. That figure down by 12% on 2014.
