French man found hanged in Koh Tao with his hands tied behind his back – foul play suspected

KOH TAO: -- At around 3pm in the 1st of January 2015 police and rescue teams were called to a bungalow on Koh Tao where the body of a 29 year old French murder suicide Koh Tao man was found hanging from the ceiling of his rented bungalow.

Suspicions arose over what appeared to be a suicide when on further inspection it was discovered the man’s hands were tied behind his back. Wounds were discovered around the man’s neck as well as two 5cm lacerations to his arm, one near his wrist the second near to his elbow. It is thought the man had been dead for around two hours.

The door to the man’s bungalow, later identified at Dmitri, was open and there was no sign of a struggle. Police and rescue workers found a note on the man’s bed that suggested a recent love affair may have come to an end and that the man recently lost one of his grandparents, however questions are being asked as to how it is possible for anybody to commit suicide with their hand tied behind their back.

An autopsy is expected to reveal whether or not that man was drugged.

Let the investigation take it's course. Thailand is not rife with serial killers or gangsters, most of them come here on the plane.

The prevalent official police theory is that two Burmese men escaped from jail, hanged the victim and snuck back into their cells without anyone noticing.whistling.gif

The first day of a new year with opportunities for all had just began, a life just 29 years of age is found dead, hands tied behind his back, leaving everyone behind in a pool of questions and suspicion........I would have hoped that 2015 would have send my first condolences to the family of the deceased a bit further away in the year, but we all know that Amazing Thailand, can quickly turn around in shocking Asia!

Sometimes at a shocking pace.

Rest in Peace.

I would guess people who are murdered then staged to look like suicide happens more times here than we'd like to think. RIP.

Why would they leave the hand tied....dead giveaway....

My advice to the mafia on Koh Tao Death Island would be to rein in their killers, or soon tourism

will cease to exist on the island. Hmm hands tied behind the back looks a bit suspicious. Will be

tough to spin this as a suicide..

the problem for me is that some people have claimed in the past that this is the way they were to die

The case was originally reported as no foul play - now suspicion of foul play, because hands tied and lacerations. Dunno much about conspiracy theories, but this definitely seems like fighting flames with gasoline.

Because they were either too stupid to take it off, or maybe they got interrupted and had to leave in a hurry. I would venture to guess one wouldn't need his hands bound to be thrown from a high rise either.

Honestly, how many of these hands tied behind back suicides have we seen in Thailand now?

I really really want to use a whole skip load of foul language.

if you ever watched the movie "law abiding citizen" you will understand how easy it is to kill someone while your in jail,it just has to be the cambodian duo again

East explanation: they identified the deceased as a key suspect in his own death. The police secured his hands to ensure he would not be able to escape custody.

Anyone claiming otherwise is just a conspiracy theorist who should wait for the full evidence to be revealed at the inquest.

Perhaps to warn the others? Who knows? But what many will wonder is whether there is a protected person who is a serial killer in Koh Tao. As long as such a person were to stick to killing falang, no one there is likely to do anything to stop him.
