I am also on the lookout for a new dentist for my regular cleaning. I gave Elite smile and Dr Benjaporn a try on the recommendation of a few on this thread and was not that impressed. I paid 800฿ but the appointment was rushed; they seem to want to turn over the patients as fast as they can.

When I used Elite for a clean I was very disappointed. 800 baht and was in and out in 5 minutes. Not at all thorough.

Who do you use now?

I haven't used another CM dentist for a clean since Elite but my husband has used the one on Moon Muang on the corner of soi 2 (I think that's correct) and he paid 800 baht for a really thorough clean which took around 20 minutes. I'll go there next time. However, I wouldn't hesitate to return to Elite for treatment. They fitted a crown on a broken tooth which required a root canal filling too and it was an excellent service.

After 10 years with Grace I am finally moving to Grand Dent on Mandihol Road near Airport Plaza.

I have to have two implants, Grace quoted me 225,000 for all the work. I went to see the dentist there, who also teaches at CMU, an Associate Professor, and he has quoted me 155,000 for exactly the same work.

I am sorry to be leaving Dr.Korokot after all these years, but the price of a 15 minute clean is now 1,400 baht, so everything there is getting pricier all the time.

Just a few days ago a friend of mine mentioned that he had gotten 2 implants at grand dental and that the dentist who did it was one of the main teachers of the technique in Thailand. My friend was very happy with the results.

I like Grace, I had a terrible experience at dental land. Grace is pretty expensive but has been the best to me so far, much better than elite smile imho.

Been going a lot to elite the last two years. I am always satisfied with the work they do, the charges and the genuine friendliness. I pay 600 baht for cleaning every 3 months. The every three months is MY decision not salemanship from them.

I was a regular there as well, until they botched a filling. I proceeded to have to get that re-done (exact same tooth etc) at my expense. No big problem.... but that proceeded to also fail, and I got an infection on that tooth. They were quite rude when I asked if they could give me a discount because it was from the tooth they had worked on previously. It needed a root canal, and that filling ended up costing me well over 60,000 baht total, and a lot of pain.

I had the same experience in a much lower cost for the same work done at C and M dental. Grand dent is new , modern up to the minute equipment and very competant dentists. The only thing missing is free coffee/ tea and a farang magazine or two. ( Thought I would throw that in in case they read this lol)

Do you have a location for Grace Dental.

I just fired another dentist for not using sufficient anesthetics. Grace has good review so I'm willing to try. I really need a periodontal cleaning which I can't handle without being numbed. Any recommendation on doctors there. I know they have more than a few. Thanks! I'm in the process of contacting my dentist of 14 years in the US who never hurt me during a dental procedure. I need to discuss with him why he was always able to administer the correct type and amount of anesthetic to numb me for periodontal cleaning and for filling cavities, and what his opinion is on why I've gone though at least 8 Thai dentists all of whom have hurt me during dental procedures and see to refuse to use sufficient anesthetics.

I've seen implants advertised at the 40K THB range, one of the places being Dental World. How do you get up to 155K THB for 2 implants? Just asking.

Having asked around the price I am paying at Grand Dent sounds OK...especially compared to the 225,000 Grace wanted.

I have a friend who had one done at GD because another dental practice said it was too complicated for them. He is happy with the result, and I am happy with the treatment I have received so far.

I have never heard of Dental World?

I have just had my teeth cleaned (scaled), polished and checked very professionally, took about 50 minutes at John McCormick Hospital Dental department. All for 500 Bht. (I did make a donation as well)

Now if the rest of me looked and felt as good as my teeth I would be happy. biggrin.png
