90 day report at Major Hollywood, Suksawat

Featured Replies

I made three such 90-day reports at that location last year. But in January this year I did one along with my visa extension at Jaeng Wattana. Now it's almost time to do another one, and I am again uncertain about whether it can still be done at Major Hollywood, or not.

The immigration website states that the Major Hollywood office is now only for Burmese, Lao and Cambodians - but it said that last year too, and I was still able to make 90 days reports there. It is reasonably easy to get to, and when there it takes only about 10 minutes. If I have to go to Jaeng Wattana it will take a whole day of travel, waiting hours just to submit a form and get a receipt, and then I will get stuck in a monster traffic jam trying to get home again, just like happened to me in January.

I have seen the announcement about the online system. I do not use Microsoft Windows, so cannot run the only browser they say they support, and the site will not load in Chrome running on Linux. Anyway I have doubts about the reliability and security of this service, and would rather report in person and make sure that I have the receipt in my hand before the deadline date. I feel the same way about reporting by mail, and the paperwork is much more onerous for that method than for the report in person.

I would really like to know if anyone has successfully completed a 90-day report at Major Hollywood, Suksawat since the beginning of this year. Thank you in advance for any information or advice.

There have been several reports of people doing their 90 day reports at.Suksawat.

From the Bangkok immigration website main page. http://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/base.php

"From 2nd January, 2014, all foreigners residing in Bangkok will be able to provide their 90 days notification of residence at 2 additional offices, which are Immigration Service Center for 3 national Legalized Labors, Major Hollywood Suksawat and Imperial World Ladprao."

Yes, several reports which I read last year, but none from this year that I can find. The announcement on the immigration website is still there as you say, but on http://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/base.php?page=90days it says only 3 nationalized labors can do 90-day reports at Suksawat, and everyone else must go to the Government complex. Therefore, I am still confused and uncertain.

The message is indeed confusing, but all nationalities can use Suksawat for 90 day reporting as has been confirmed by many reports, including from this year.

Only all other services are for 3 nationalities mentioned.

I had the same issue when I did mine this week... I ended up just going to Chaeng Wattana because the office on Ladprao opens so late, i was awake early, and I was unsure. Glad to see from Mario's post that still can do if it come to that, though with the online reporting I will likely just do online in future.

Yes, I would go there myself if it did not take so long. Last time I went it took 2 hours to get there, then 4 hours waiting for my number to be called, plus an hour for their lunch, and when done it was nearly 4 pm and it took 4 hours to go home again. It is absurd to have to spend 10 hours of my life to do something that takes just 10 minutes. Once per year for the visa extension is more than enough for me. But I just wish I could actually find a recent first-hand account of a successful 90-day report at Suksawat. I have searched this site but not found anything dated later than last year.

Agree with the OP's comments regarding the reliability and security of the online system (when and if eventually up and running) but not as regards the snail mail option. To me producing reams of paper beats taking 10 hours out of one's life every 90 days as a result of a trip in person to "sunny" Chaengwattana (or wherever) hands down!

First hand here, been there last month drive 8 minutes inside 2 minutes drive back 8 minutes total 18, love it.

Cheang wattana was at least 4 hours combined.

The website is confusing but you still can go. Or why not go to 7/11?

I did my 90 day reporting at Suksawat about 20 days ago So YES you can do it there

Many thanks to the last two respondents. Exactly what I wanted to hear! It is at least a 4-hour round trip for me, so I was reluctant to risk going without knowing for sure that I could still file the report there. I just wish that the immigration authority would remove the ambiguity and make it clear whether or not the Suksawat option is still available to people who are not citizens of the three countries listed.

I, too, hope that online option will be available to me before my next report, due in July.

I was there three (3) days ago. Sign says opens at 10:30, the window opens at 10:00. Just went ot the BTS station and taxis are waiting when you step down to the street. However, with the new 7-11 and online options I'm not sure that is now the best available option. FYI, if you do go there, it's all the way around the back, you have to walk through the long driveway.

Ha ha! 7-11 option!!! I hope no one who reads that really believes they can do a report there.

No !

Unless you are staying longer than 90 days in country without leaving.

In which case you would be amassing overstay fine(s) !

Thanks for your reply.

Did you receive a receipt for that 800 Bht ?

The only reason you could have had for attending "Samut Prakarn Immigration" was to request an extension of stay and a hotel bill would have satisfied the need for an address. The extension would have cost 1900 Bht !

Yes I have received a receipt for that 800 bahts fine.

Maybe I live in renting house at Phra Samut Chedi district in Samut Prakarn, and the owner of the house

have to report my adress....I don t live in Hotel

thanks again

I can add a more recent confirmation- today, June 18, 2015- that the 90 day report can be done at Major Hollywood Suksawat. I did mine there this afternoon.

There was just one annoying hitch, though. The person at the window rejected my address! He said I had not written it fully. This is the first time in my nearly 30 years here that anybody has said anything about the way I write my address for anything official- visa extensions, re-entries, 90 Day at Chaeng Wattana, you name it. I live in central Bangkok in a condo. The form has the usual blanks for tambol, amphur, etc. that I have never heard being used for city addresses in Bangkok. I just write the number with slash, the condo name, the soi, the district and Bangkok in a line, ignoring those blanks, the same way I write my address for everything here. Never been questioned over it- never, except for confirmation of the exact number of the condo unit- the "room"- which is the number to the right of the slash. But only to confirm, not to dispute.

This guy (young kid- didn't look like a regular official) handed it back- wouldn't accept it for processing. I didn't list the tambol or the amphur in the correct blanks. So, I got hot under the collar but didn't overdo it (my point of view) and then remembered that I had the number of the condo manager in my phone so I called and we managed to figure out what the city equivalents were and what I should write where and I scribbled those on the form and took it back.

At that time there was a lady sitting next to him, clearly a full official in the brown uniform, and they processed the 90 Day form together and printed out the receipt (the printer was on the lady's side) without further delay. And then I scooted.

Mostly, I make trips out of the country from time to time so I rarely have need of doing the 90 day report; I think I will put more effort in doing that from now on. At least it's more fun that way. Or maybe the online route- after things get more settled and secure in the system.

So, the question is: is this some new directive from on high, or can it be put down to just that one person's ngee-ngaoness? Either way, I now have those address elements written down and in my iPhone should I be similarly hassled in future.

BTW, this whole process/episode took about 15 minutes. It was almost deserted at the immigration office this afternoon- only 1 other person doing the 90 day report for the general group of foreign nationals, and rather few for the migrant worker group, too.

Apologies for reviving this old thread, but there aren't many on this immigration office.

Is the map location given 1/2 way down this link correct? I'm unsure as one comment above mentions a nearby BTS station, when there isn't one in that area of the map: http://www.bangkokpost.com/lifestyle/3448_info_major-hollywood-suksawat.html

A loose Google search suggests Ramkampheng area, but that looks suspect to me
