Non-stick cooking paper

Featured Replies

On the subject of items missing from stores, this stuff (Bakewell or Clean Cooking Paper) has vanished from all stores I have tried in Phuket since before Christmas - unless someone knows a current stockist?

A long shot, down stairs at CF where all the kitchen ware stuff is. (I presume you've tried TOPS, Villa..ect)

I'll try there - never thought of that - probably because I am usually in and out of CF before the main store opens.

Gerbera house in Phuket town.

Shmidt bakery supplies on wiset Rd, Rawai.

Most Makro stores sell it too.

I wish the Makro south of Chalong circle would sell stuff other than just "food". sad.png

You were spot on - in among all the kitchen stuff were packets of Bakewell. Thanks for the suggestion.

In the Makro that I use in Khampaeng Phet stuff like this us usually close to the plastic bags, dustbins, paper plates and stuff like that. They do a jumbo size of parchment paper, metal foil and clingfilm. They also do foil dishes, plates, plastic cutlery etc.

One trick I use is to do a Google search for what I need, and then do a Google translate for the Thai words, paste them onto MS Word then go online to get a photo and paste that too.

That works most of the time.

I do that too! biggrin.png I sometimes photograph the word shown on Google Translate and show it to the staff.

But the Makro south of Chalong circle is food only. The one in Phuket Town stocks everything.

I am sorry, I did not undestand that Chalong only sells food. I had assumed that like most Makro stores it sold almost everything.

That's OK, Bill! biggrin.png - but very disappointing for me when I want to get simple everyday stuff like washing up liquid or kitchen paper, as I head for the area where it ought to be and then remember I'm in the Chalong store (Rawai, actually) and not the Phuket Town store.

I must ask them next time I'm there if they are going to expand at the back or to the south and add non-food items.

Anyway, today I went to Supercheap (the main one in north Phuket) and got everything I need for months - an incredible store,

Maybe I live in a different parallel universe to some posters here but I bought non-stick cooking paper and detergent from Rawai Makro last week !

Thanks for your informative and slightly sardonic post. smile.png

I went there today and discovered that they now stock some paper, plastic and styrofoam goods as well as bleach, washing-up liquid, "parchment paper", aluminium (with 2 i's) foil and cling film. It's all on the first aisle to the right.

Just goes to show, someone at Makro is reading this forum...
