Strange phone call

Featured Replies

I just got a phone call from a woman who said she was from immigration office and needed to know when my visa expiered-And as it has never happend before I checked the number and can see it belong in Chiang Mai...so fare as I know they donrt have a immigration office.

Just wonder what it was about.

Very strange. If your visa/extension is in date then I would not answer any questions on the phone.

It's quite odd, but what makes you say Chiang Mai doesn't have an immigration office? It's one of the most popular places in the country for expats to live....

Maybe there getting ready to blacklist you.

Called the office in Chiang rai and the woman said they never phone people about visa-so I gave her the number and she said-its from Mae sai but she did not understand why-so not much clever about that.

Right Chiang mai have an office nd no they aint getting ready to blacklist me as all my visa papers is ok up to date-going to get my retirement back d. 30th.

Sounds like she was getting information for a scam . When i am in Oz i often get these type of phone calls from Mumbai . Ask them for a return phone number and you will call them back because you have been caught at an embarrassing or awkward moment .

sounds like a scam. Be wary.

You're warning him almost 90 days too late.

But since he would have to complete a 90 day report by now maybe he'll find out if it was an actual Immigration issue.
