Fitness Equipment in Chiang Rai

Featured Replies

Anyone know of any fitness equipment shops here besides the store at the International Plaza? They rarely have sales (and are never willing to negotiate) on their treadmills/ellipticals and even worse they typically only have 3 on the floor for you to even look at. Everything else they have for sale is in a catalog.

Looking for treadmills/eliptical

Thanks,

I think the import taxes are very high. And I'm not impressed by the quality of the equipment I've seen.

BTW: I'm looking for a Chuck Norris Total Gym machine. No luck, so far.

Your probably right. I did find this site but they don't show prices. I'll visit this weekend. Guessing prices will start around 50k. I'll let you know if I find a place with a total gym. I use to have one of those.

One of the few things I miss about Bangkok would be the high-end health clubs and their well maintained equipment. Maintenance should probably be on your list of concerns as well, because exercise equipment tends to breakdown.

I finally decided to embrace the fact I no longer live in the city and have moved toward outdoor exercise. A mountain bike or a road bike can be a lot more enjoyable than the monotony of a machine, I have found. Pushups, chin-ups, dips, stretching and abdominal exercises help to round out the aerobic benefits of the biking.
I understand you only asked where to buy what you want but I thought I would mention some alternatives.

The shop in Central Plaza occasionally has a special display in the main concourse and they will negotiate at that time. I bought an OMA treadmill from them that was negotiated down from around 33,000 baht to 25,000. (I actually don't use it anymore so let me know if you are interested in a used machine)

I go to the Exclusive fitness above Thaweeyon plaza in town. Great place.
