Several people killed in shooting in Switzerland

BERLIN (AP) — Police said Sunday that they found several people dead after shots were heard in a town in northern Switzerland.

Residents heard shots in the town of Wuerenlingen shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday night, police said. Officers then found "several" dead people lying outside and in a house in a residential area, they said in a statement.

All the dead were adults. Police said that they are working to identify them and that the circumstances of and possible motive for the shooting remain unclear.

Wuerenlingen is a town of some 4,500 people northwest of Zurich, near the German border.

Police said they expect to give further information later Sunday.

Perhaps they need tighter gun control?

I bet that non of the victims is a proper, born and brad Swiss, Swaziland has many, many 'new

Swiss' people living there that mostly don't assimilate wit the 'old Swiss' .....

Early reports stated that three are thought to have been confirmed dead so far but the death toll could be as high as eight, according to local media.

The picture of the Policemen contained in the above article would not be consistent with a small town of around 4500 people.

Several people killed in Swiss shooting: police

GENEVA (AFP) - Several people have been killed in a shooting in the northern Swiss canton of Aargau, police said on Sunday.

Police, who did not give the precise number of victims, said all those who died were adults but that the cause of the incident on Saturday evening in Wrenlingen was unknown.

A news conference would take place later on Sunday.

Neighbours alerted police after hearing gunshots after 11 pm (2100 GMT) and officers subsequently discovered several dead bodies inside and outside a building.

Emergency services workers, however, had been unable to give a cause of death, police said in a statement.

The identification of the victims was underway.

Swaziland ! Isn't that further south ?

Another news source is quoting eight bodies in a family dispute.

I would imagine the family dispute is, sadly, now well and truly over.

The Swiss bankers have finally caught up with those who leaked on the HSBC and have given them a banker's farewell.

I thought it was a turf war between groups of Yodelers.

P.s Isn't it high time for someone to come along and tell us not to speculate?

Nonsensical post.

What are you trying to say or imply?

A swiss french speaking newspaper is reporting 5 dead in what looks like a family tragedy. The suspected killer, a 36 years old father with a criminal record shot his parents-in-law, his brother-in-law and another man yet to be identified, and then committed suicide. Here we go.....

It's still looking like a murder-suicide of family and extended family. Several television channels.

For the benefit of Naam, Manarak and 12Drinkmore.

When I posted the link at 1500 yesterday, it did not have the photo's that are now posted at the link.

It had a photo of a Policeman in specialist gear, hence the reason I said it was not consistent with a small town of around 4500 people.

For the direct benefit of Naam. I have no need to google '' Kantons'' I know what it means. The Photo yesterday when I posted the link did not say '' Kantons Polizei '' only '' Polizei '' Thank you for confirming my suspicions. thumbsup.gifthumbsup.gif

@ Radiochaser.

Correct. The Daily Mail is blocked in Thailand. Some can get it, others cannot. I am sure you can work it out wai.gifwai.gif
