The biggest problem with Udon is many restaurants don't open for breakfast til around 9. coffee Corner did open around 7.

Many times I would go to McDonalds for A starter breakfast then around 9 go to one of the other places.

I'm guessing most Thai's eat breakfast late so they don't open early.I see many farang out and about fairly early.

Anyone know a good pub / restaurant Udon have good ferang food reasonable prices? Good farang breakfast restaurant too. Going with the missus. Prefer not the bar area

I know this might be a tad too late, Kenny. But noticing you're online I have to share this. I highly recommend The Diary Restaurant.

It's run by a Nui (the excellent chef) and Karl. They have got an extensive menu ranging from American, Italian, Mexican, European and the list goes on.

From the time I discovered this gem of a restaurant, I have been a regular so does friends to whom I'd recommended.

It's down a small soi along Udon Dutsadi Road. You can find the exact location in udmap.

Avoid Samphan Fish & Chips though.

Have eaten at the Diary. Good food and reasonable service. Boss is a nice bloke. I find car park to be quite small and difficult to get out on to the busy road.

Interesting comment. I and my friends eat there regularly. Food is very good and reasonably priced. Staff are pleasant and efficient.

Ugh ,, Samphan chippy is expanding at a pace, they have just taken over the premises next door.

At long last, a farang business success story in Udon.

It's up for sale as of the 2nd of July (780,000 baht)! Successful??? That's fishy.
