Australian Consular Serviice to visit Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

I found the following on the Australian Embassy website

The Consular Section of the Australian Embassy in Bangkok will be undertaking a Consular outreach visit to Chiang Mai on

Friday 4 September 2015 from 8.30am to 12.00pm and 1.00pm to 3.00pm at:
Tamarind Village Chiang Mai
50/1 Rajdamnoen Road, Tambon Sri Pum
Amphoe Muang, Chiang Mai 50200
P: 053 418 896

Thanks, the last Consular Outreach must have shown to be worthwhile so we should be looking at regular visits now.

This will be their 3rd visit this year. They did tell me in February that they were trying to visit Chiang Mai every 3 months

Sorry to ask a dumb question...or two:

1: Has Mike given up his Hon. Consular activities here?

2: Does this visit include a General Meeting of some sort, open for Oz Expats to attend?

Thanks in advance !

Firstly let me say that I am really grateful that the Oz Embassy has commenced this regular and highly valuable service. Full marks to them! It would however be SO helpful (for travel etc purposes) to have more notice of the exact dates they are coming - even, dare I suggest a yearly schedule.

I went to the last one, it was in the Hotel Tamarind Village near the ThaPae Gate and it was all business.

I arrived about 9am and was out in an hour after getting a declaration signed.

I hadn't had anything to do with then consulate prior to this so don't know any Mike, the consul was a friendly and very helpful young (younger than me) woman.
