No policy to bar those with piercing, tattoo from private vocational institutes

BANGKOK, 12 August 2015 (NNT) – The Office of the Private Education Commission (OPEC) has asserted there is no policy to bar students with ear piercing or body tattoo from enrolling in private vocational institutes.

Adinan Pakbara, secretary-general of the commission, indicated that seats must be provided to all students enrolling into vocational study in the 2016 school year without exception. Every individual will have to be evaluated by the specific institute they are applying to, however.

As for the proposed transfer of authority over private educational institutes to the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Prime Minister's Office, Mr. Adinan said the private education associations in all 76 provinces have expressed disapproval of the move.

It's not the piercing tattooing and other body arts they should worry about, it's all has to do with the diminished

capacity to learn and even worse than that, to want to learn, thinking that t hey can slide through life

on a Mai Pen Rai scholarship....

Those with tattoos, piercings, are more likely to be free thinkers,

than the majority of zombie students, whom believe everything

they are fed, maybe thats what worries the establishment.

With the current administration becoming more puritanical by the day it would come as no surprise if there was such a policy emerging.

Backflip Backflip Backflip. Great news that these kids can go to school and a big <deleted> you to all the prejudiced plonkers who thought they should be banned.

Several years ago having tattoos or piercings was more representative of a non-establishment think. Nowadays, though, tattoos and piercing are just fashions for the zombies.

And a 50 year prison sentence to go with it?

Seriously, why do these idiot bureaucrats not think these things through before opening their mouth and attempting to ingest their foot? Everyone looks silly with their foot in their mouth. In a country so obsessed with saving face you would think it would be S.O.P. to think these things through or at least seek peer approval but, NO! It is "engaging mouth before putting brain into gear" that is the Standard Operating Procedure here, instead.

Possibly, but by the same token those with tattoos are more likely to be criminals and reprobates. Ever seen a documentary about life in a prison? - the inmates all seem to be covered in tattoos. It's an interesting correlation.

Considering the number of soldiers who have ink, I don't think they have too much of a problem with tattoos.

In the west possibly..even here with the richer set possibly.. But the majority of technical college kids with visible tattoos etc. Don't think so!

Can't really control it when they are drafted can they ?
