What's the standard barb size for LPG gas in Thailand?

Featured Replies

I want to buy a gas connector, 3/8" male to gas barb.

There are plenty of connectors for sale on the internet.

What I am confused about (doesn't take much to make me confused), is the measurement of the barb.

On my existing LPG gas bottle barb connections to the hose I measure the barb as about 7/16", or 12 mm or 0.43 of an inch.

When I look on the internet the gas fittings from 3/8" male go to 1/4" male hose barg, or 1/8" barg, or 0.47" barb.

No fitting seem to go from 3/8" male to 7/16" barb.

I must be doing something wrong.

What should my barb size be?

Places that sell gas fittings seem to be few and far between in the provinces at least, but they do exist. I would never order fittings by internet, I need to take the thing with me.

Thanks for your reply, but I have checked everywhere and Thaliand only seems to have 1/2" fittings.

I think the house barb is 1/4" so I have taken the chance and ordered a 3/8" npt male to 1/4" hose barb brass connector from EBay.

There must be a hardware place by you, you can buy adapters to fit and convert to the size you need, the fittings are standard in Thailand. I had the same problem and fixed it with an adapter.

There are adaptors, but they are all 1/2". I couldn't find a 3/8".

This is the place to check, full knowledge and supplies.

I used them to rebuild my Outback brand barbi,

Thanks for the reply, but have ordered via EBay.

I measured the existing gas fitting barb and could not get the same measurements as documents on the internet.

The measurements were pretty close to 1/4" but I don't know how the barb is measured. OD or ID or how?

Anyway thanks again.
