And they ate building a tunnel in the most flood prone area. It will flood and people will die. Every year. Guaranteed

I now know we live in parallel univeries!.

Today, I had an appointment at Bangkok Int Hospital in soi 4 at 12.15pm. I telephoned at 10.30am to reschedule due to the roads flooding. The lady seemed genuinely surprised and queried the rain etc.

I explained I lived by the lake on Siam CC road. I suppose the situation from the 7th floor on soi 4 in central Pattaya is very different to the flooding 6-7 kilometers away.

Anyway, she agreed to change the appointment until tomorrow. clap2.gif

Sukhumvit can't handle the water as it is. What a brilliant idea to put tunnels in to drain the water drive cars through.

They could have made a "smart tunnel " like the one built in Malaysia

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMART_Tunnel

. Or they could start by fixing the drainage on sukhumvit first and build overpasses at the major intersections. They can't even fix the drainage above ground and yet the decide to make tunnels...gotta love the logic.

That is one hell of a current. You get caught in that, you're screwed!

Yeah guaranteed cause the intersection of Suk road and Klang always floods massively..........

idiot.

How to get across Pattaya from Banglamung to the Immigration in Jomtien Soi 5 avoiding flooded areas today? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Perhaps the railway road is a safe bet? And then down Wat Boon?

I don't think the intersection actually did? Where the tunnel starts/finishes near Boontathorn however is a low point and that is always flooded.

On the south bound side at 5.45pm last night it was already a problem there but the actual intersection area, as was, was clear.

crocodile park is likely to lose a couple of residents as they swim away.

The housing project behind Alankarn is completely flooded now. A few houses in our village are flooded also. Water's rising fairly quick.

Walking around the past couple hours and everything drained and back to normal more or less in the square area bordering beach rd, klang, 3rd road, pattaya tai. It is raining again though and weather radar shows that will probably be going on and off all day.

Only thing I saw worth mentioning are a couple downed trees on beach rd boardwalk. Bunch of shops flooded and currently mopping up around klang opposite buakhao. Everything opened.

That sucks.. hope you can avoid flooding. My house was flooded in 2011 BKK.. no fun. If your about to flood make sure the electricity of the lower floors is switched off.

Businesses just keep on getting hit over n over again by s .h .i.t. I wonder if they include these THINGS when they do their budgets?

Thanks. I think we'll be OK, but it's getting scary. Attached is the pic from yesterday at my friend's house. Totally flooded. Water rose sooooo fast, it was unreal. Pic of the car also....bummer! We fought the rising waters for hours, but finally gave up. Couldn't sit as the water was above the chairs and the couches were floating.

It's raining very heavy right now and water is rising very fast. A few houses are already in trouble. But the locals are taking it all in stride. Amazing. They're out in the street catching the fish that are coming out of the drains. One lady has almost a half bucket filled up! 555555

And this, worst ever flooding after the Mayor ? of Pattaya said no more

annually for 5 years . What is even worse are the big businesses, along

Beach RD. - Central Mall, Amari, Holiday INN, Hilton, paying millions

in taxes, watching millions of profits , literally, going down the drain

& not tar and feathering the city administation !

At least some working girls are dedicated to their jobs gigglem.gif

Bargirls do what bargirls do......................hahahaha! Rain in bkk does keep customers away and also the girls.

Just got word the dam in Ban Chang has broken and the water is heading down here, past St. Andrew's, which I believe is off for today, and through Huay Yai. It's getting bad...

Heard the back road from 331to Ban Chang has been 'cut' but at the moment unconfirmed.

I'll try to post the pic, but yes, the road is completely washed out. Our village is in trouble now. It's still raining and the water's rising.

Post #47 and #57 are of the road to 331.

Also heard that some dam near Ban Chang has 'gone' but to be honest I can't think where it is.

What amuses me is the idiots who SEE how deep the water is, and yet they still try to drive through it, then scratched their heads and wonder why they didn't make it.

LOL. I was one of those idiots yesterday. Rode my bike along a few streets with exhaust underwater. Eventually stalled it but pushed it about 50m to higher ground, restarted it and managed to get home. Sometimes it pays to be an idiot.biggrin.png

That's a very fast current! Does anyone know where that was?

If you buy a house here better choose wisely, our village is good positioned for coping with this weather and all 4 vehicles sits nice and dry.

Those photos are making me nostalgic for dear old Patts rolleyes.gif

I have a birds eye view of Pattaya Bay from my condo in Markland, last night around 6pm there was the loudest thunder I have ever heard. Here is a little YouTube video from my balcony.

I also have a webcam so you can tune in any time, http://fivestarvagabond.com/pattaya-webcam/

Your webcam is off, did you get hit by lightening? Hope you are ok!
