Hi all,

Are there any new hotels, Guest houses that have opened up recently in the city center, I have been looking at the Kanlaya place near the clock tower, but the photos don't tell you to much but their are good reviews.

I have been to Yasothon a few times and i have stayed in 3 different hotels in town that you cant find on the web and each one offers great value for money, so i was hoping that someone might know of something similar in chiang Rai.

Looking at staying for a week, in December.

Regarding the Kanlaya place, I have looked for it on Google earth and i cant locate it.

Appears to be on JedYod road between the Wang Come Hotel and the Clock tower.

Agoda is giving the best prices on that hotel, but just find it surprising that i cant view it on Street View,

Kanlaya gets a fair bit of road noise. Street view was taken before it was built. The Chiang Rai hotel a bit further north has been renovated. Past the clock on the east side of the street.

The Chiang Rai hotel looks ran down when looking at Google Earth, So most likey the photos don't do the hotel justice, Can you confirm that the rooms have been modernised from the photos on their web site?
