December 7, 201510 yr An Enfield with a sidecar, that is a huge people carrier. 15 seater in India, 30 with a roof. Damn, tough bikes then!
December 8, 201510 yr I believe they are taking to a few possible dealers, one being in CM. Not sure when it will happen though. At the press show, they discussed possible dealer locations
December 11, 201510 yr I have a Classic Chrome/Maroon on order, hope to take delivery mid February. Was at the BKK Motorexpo and I have understood they have sold a lot of them!
December 11, 201510 yr hope you can afford the petrol They are nice but thirsty brutes Also the FI models? @brake 034; what a beautiful bike, looking forward to your impressions when you get it.
December 11, 201510 yr I am not sure if they are really thirsty, when I drive a bike I don't care too much about petrol usage. If petrol use would be a concern you are better off with a Honda Dream instead of a 500cc RE I think? This will not be my first RE, in Holland I owned a '93 Enfield Bullet 500 in a similar color scheme.
December 11, 201510 yr hope you can afford the petrol They are nice but thirsty brutes thirsty ? according to this website 1:25 to 1:29 liter to km http://www.fuelly.com/motorcycle/royal_enfield/classic_500 Brutes ? the 500 produces a whopping 29hp...... or was your comment meant to be sarcastic ? somehow i believe not
December 12, 201510 yr Compare the earlier pre EPA carb model's engine bottom end to the newer FI unit construction look. Earlier model looks so much better. I suppose that's called "progress".
December 12, 201510 yr Compare the earlier pre EPA carb model's engine bottom end to the newer FI unit construction look. Earlier model looks so much better. I suppose that's called "progress". I am basng my comment on real Enfields. If hey have motored and carbed them hey are not as far as I am concerned Royal Enfields. Try starting a real one on a cold morning in Darjeeling and you will call them more than brutes.

December 12, 201510 yr Harry, I have owned a Velocette 500 Venom (to Clubman specs), a Norton ES2 and a BSA A65L in the past.Starting a RE 500 is easy compared to the Velo! Plus the new RE will come with elektric starter..... Sorry for the bad picture of the Velo, it's a photo of a print.

How big are their fuel tanks?
December 13, 201510 yr LOL. Re pinstripe hand lining of petrol tanks; reminds me of Monty Python's Life of Brian scene with "well, what have the Romans ever given us?". - Apart from Enfield and Triumph, who still lines a tank by hand... Hopefully here, having my t100c tank repainted as per the original colour scheme and that includes gold pin stripes each side of the purple/silver. If not,I'll do it myself, used to be a sprayer. Assuming I'm not shaking too much ;-)
December 13, 201510 yr 3 x BSA singles, two sidevalves, one OHV, north of Chiang Rai. Velocette spotted south of Uttaradit. Full plate and current road tax. He was with a group of mainly Triumph pre unit twins (rigid and s/arm) riding back to BKK. They were'nt hanging about either. A65 also amongst them.
December 14, 201510 yr Garry, tank of the Classic is 14,5 liter. Thaiguzzy, I think the top picture with the BSA's was shot in Chiang Saen during a LICME meeting?Nice Velo too, will be worth a small fortune if legally plated in Thailand......
December 15, 201510 yr Brake, yes the photo of the BSA's was taken at LICME 2015, were you there too? Lovely day out. The Velo had a legal plate, green book, and up to date road tax paid.
December 15, 201510 yr Thaiguzzi, no I was not at the LICME but I read about it and saw some photo's on another, motorcycle related, forum.
December 17, 201510 yr I have a 3 yr old Desert Storm in Abu Dhabi. Cruising between 80 & 110 kmh on flat roads I easily get 30 km per lt. Fuel low light starts to flicker after about 10 lt gone.
December 20, 201510 yr Press reports indicate General Auto Supply Co is the RE dealer. Anyone have the company's email address? (am very much interested after seeing the bikes at the Motor Show and have a couple of follow up questions Tks

December 21, 201510 yr Now that is sweet. It even looks like it will handle, stop, and go round corners. Form AND function.
December 21, 201510 yr The Hollis is nice, sporting the pre unit single engine. Soon we can expect some Thai custom builders to start working on cafe racers and bobbers. For the Thai roads a Scrambler/Trails version like this McDeeb would be very nice:
