The only way this ruling regime can win this cyber war is by pulling the plug andshut down the entire network communication in Thailand... cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

That's their only way to save face, but with the terrible after effects of causing mass epidemics among the entire social media addicted generation kids and massive business outflows into other ASEAN nations cheesy.gifcheesy.gif

the ‘Single Gateway’ proposal which the government has confirmed will be cancelled.

meanwhile in today's earlier news:

state-owned CAT Telecom said it will begin preparations to build a single gateway project that has been rebranded as a business-positive part of the kingdom’s “digital economy” strategy.

I hope they put up a better fight than they did against the Japanese in WW2.

Maybe Thailand will just open up their firewalls and let them in?

It shouldn't be difficult then if they can hold out for maybe 30 minutes it will be a much better success. (But of course we all know that Thailand is the only country in Asia that has never been occupied by a foreign power...cough cough!)

And developed a cure for Ebola? Dreams are cheap I guess coffee1.gif

Egos, the size of houses! Meanwhile, Health, Education, Road Safety,?

Since Anonymous with an international network is in the game, I wouldn't bet on people who can't even provide electricity to all areas of the country, who's national carrier is almost broke, who's air safety is substandard etc. etc. Let the games begin.

"The first preparation was seen in recent contest held by the Thai Armys Military Technology Centre to find high proficient staff to counter hacking which it predicts will put national security at stake."

And the winner is...

Maj. Gen. Jakkapud Wannalotaporn who beat out his rivals by achieving the highest score on Candy Crush.

This article claims that the single gateway has been cancelled by the government??? I guess they chose a new name for it, since only yesterday it was announced that there will in fact be a single gateway. What will it be??? I can't (well sadly can) understand this behavior!

After some updates other day, I was warned Thai VIsa is untrustworthy site, do I wish to continue?

"A lot of details will have to be worked out and when finalised will have to be made public."

First order of business: get some submarines!

I cannot imagine the Thai military having any real secrets to protect.

I disagree! It is clear from the pictures I have seen the Royal Thai Navy have stealth VSTOL aircraft that operate off the aircraft carrier and I simply could not detect them at all. Not only that but there is the occasional leak on the internet of a submarine unit and again the only viable explanation here is advanced stealth technology.

This unit is well overdue I feel.

There have over the years been some good ones.... the submarine fiasco was good, the Transport Minister a few years ago announcing there would be zero road deaths over the coming Song Kran better and now this one here ... its gets my vote as the best ......

Why is it.... no let me rephrase that.. what is it that drives the need to regularly announce with great pride and zeal what should in all reality be already in place and more importantly shouldn't for strategic reasons be announced anyway.......

Public announcement of a Thai Army Cyber Warfare unit ...... well ever hacker around the world worth his hard drive just rubbed his hands with glee and said " game on"......

It almost read like their was some element of pride re the " Sony hack" references..... you know that big Sony hack.. it came through here you know.. smirk smirk....

Which one do I feel better about... the revelation that the Thai Army has no counter cyber unit to this date or that with this announcement you have effectively thrown down the gauntlet to every internet grey ghost out there................

Why is it ( ha now I can use it ) that coaching and guidance is not given to powers that be that if asked about subjects that have a degree of sensitivity and ongoing security ramifications that the answers should be along lines of " This matter is under investigation/ scrutiny/ analysis at present and as such we are not in a position to discuss at this time... Kao Tao murders same deal, police falling over themselves to give the latest when it should have just been simple statement.. this is an ongoing investigation and at this moment we are unable to comment.....

The need to blurt it all out to seemingly make things better on subjects of sensitivity rarely pays dividends and this latest has a real propensity to ping back at them.......

I can almost see this guy arriving home.... how was your day honey ??( asks the dutiful wife). Smashing love.. made a real powerful announcement that should make everyone feel good and got my picture in the paper.... Ohh thats great love.... will it amount to anything meaningful this time...??? Honey you dont understand... no I dont silly me......

this ought to be interesting... the question is, who's smarter? that is the winner. Go Winners... hehe

They are searching for talent to combat hackers according to the article. Maybe a TV show called "Thailand looking for Tech Talent" They must be firm believers in BS baffles brains. Should be interesting.

If they can get rid of all their pirated Windows copies, they will be off to a good start! coffee1.gif

do you honestly think the copies in Thailand originate from Thailand...more likely they come from the good old US of A Edited by Tanlic

Cyber warfare is not the language of reconciliation. This shows the lying governmental thieves for nothing more than they are.

Indeed. All that bruhaha re reconciliation and reform sounding somewhat hollow now that everyone can see the military's first priority is to keep itself in power forever and to hell with the welfare/rights of the THAI populace. Which general was it who said 'It's our country too' when referring to Prayuth's autocratic dominance? Disgusting in this day and age. The hubris is startling. Hey, Mr P! You and your mates aren't the only Thais here!

Arrogance + ignorance are never a good mix. Add to that equation that these people are ruling (not governing) a nation and it makes for a bad situation.

What deployment of armed forces are they referring to ?

They have never been to war EG : backed other country in need

Australia has deployed thousands and many died proud.

Protecting the innocent from cruel regimes

So I think they not need worry to much about military data. I would although rather worry about the state of cabal yards
