Usb power outlet

Featured Replies

Hi has anyone seen wall sockets with a normal power outlet and one or 2 usb ones here in Thailand ?

I have seen them in the Netherlands but not here. I could have missed them.

Ok stupid me i forgot to check lazada

I have an 8 port powered USB hub that plugs into the wall for power, and also plugs into my computer. It leaves me 8 extra ports to plug USB items into. It works like a docking station for my laptop in that my full sized mouse and keyboard run off that hub (wireless but still need USB) as does my external HDD and a couple of other things. I plug it into a normal power strip which has my laptop charger and printer and all plugged into it. That's two items - power strip and USB hub.

All I have to do to take my laptop is unplug the hub from the laptop and unplug and grab my charger and I'm outta here.

Cheers.

I know about those but that was not what I am looking for. Just a wall plug with usb outlets to charge things and it keeps the house tidy.

Those plugs you describe are good near a computer.

I can not swear that I have seen them in the usual home stores etc.

They are on offer in Thailand with the AC plugs that are usual here.

One example, 350 Baht:

Yes those are the ones i saw on lazada. I would have loved an build up instead of a built in (the wall) version. Sorry don't know the English term.

Both of you thanks for the imput.

You would have to look for a matching case / housing for surface mount.

Should be doable.

Thanks i will look into it i did not know this was possible.

Don't hang me if not tongue.png

For external housing it would be better to have a plug in the "standard size", two plugs side by side as most outlets.

The rectangular size seems quite "exotic",

Always best when you find it in a store where you can try it out/have a hand on it.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

With the likes of power surge and fluctuating supply, I would want the mains well protected before trusting my phone, iPad etc to a USB built into a mains socket.

How is that any different that plugging in a wall wart to do the same thing , they both will have protection built in

With this type of outlets, how 'good' is the quality of the output DC?

Would the amperage suit all devices?

Basically, is it advisable to use these as a charger for your expensive equipment?

I always doubted these and car cigarette lighter USB chargers.
