two random things to ask about ban chang

Featured Replies

First off thanks for the help on the christmas dinner situation , Now I'm going to become a nuisance and ask a few more questions if I may?

Secondly , is there an ice rink close by? my son plays ice hockey and wants to practice his skating while away .

Thirdly is there a decent gym near by ?I did go to the one inside the moo bahn a couple of years back (the name escapes me)but felt it was a little expensive for what it was, 2500 baht a month if memory serves me right ?? just wondering if there is any newer places that are better priced ?

thanks in advance Chris

Purimas hotel has a gym but dont know how good, bad, cheap or expensive.

Ice rink, I cant remember seeing one in Thailand.

Sorry

No ice rinks anywhere outside Bangkok (as far as i know). But 2 good gyms in Banchang; at the Naranchula (sp) Fitness centre (at the village at the top of the road from the famous "Strip" of bars), or on the new bypass road just

off from the Payoon intersection. Membership (inclusive, as many times as you want) from around 14k - 16k (Baht) per year, or daily / monthly deals somewhere near that unit rate.

Just had a look, but the Ice rinks are only in Bangkok and further away.

Info here: http://www.majorbowlhit.com/branch.php and look at "Sub Zero Ice Skate Club"

Edit: An interesting read about Ice Hockey and Thailand

Excellent read that ! Instead of aiming for my son to be a soap star we can push him to join the Thai ice hockey team ? Cool runnings anyone? Lol

My in laws live in bkk so I think he will go up there to practice when we are there , just thought there may be somewhere a little closer

excellent thanks natanchula is the one I used to go to but $75 a month for a few free weights is a little excessive ! If you pass the new gym by the Payoon intersection could you be so kind as to find out the name ? Thank you so much

Then you have never been to chiang mai...a must see destination. Shocking.

Central festival has one

I have been there but we were staying up in the hills and I was cold enough without thinking about ice skating.biggrin.png

Ok thanks I'm not much of a mall person (not that you couldn't guess)

Only Ice Rink i know of is one in Sukhumvit Rd opposite Ekkamai bus station. Never been inside but my kids used to enjoy going there. Just one reasonably long bus ride from Ban Chang .
