Help using Google maps?

Featured Replies

I can't seem to find a way to save favorites? From memory I used to click on a gold star to save. It doesn't appear anymore?

I have the free version. Do I need pay money for this?

With the new Google Maps,

If a PC,

click mouse pointer to set location, and set the 'marker'

a 'flag' should appear offering you 'StreetView', 'Address', 'Lat/Lon', or 'Directions'

a. clicking on 'Address' LINK will select the closest general location (but may be 'the city')

b. clicking on 'Lat/Lon' LINK will record the precise location but the label remains it's Lat/Lon address

Once you've clicked a LINK, the option to 'star' (save) the location will be presented.

These marker entries can then be found by selecting the Maps (menu) item and selecting "My Maps"

If on an Android Phone,

press and hold a position on the map to set a 'drop marker'

tap the center mark of the drop marker

the option to 'star' (save) the location will be presented

to add a label you will need to enable Web and App Activity in Activity Controls on your google account
