More arrest warrants sought in baby case

ROI ET: Police have issued arrest warrants for three more persons over suspicion they might have been involved in the December 23 abduction of a newborn baby girl from Roi Et Hospital during a fire drill.

The infant was found later the same day at 5pm at a private hospital. A 30-year-old woman, her husband and family brought the baby in question, claiming to have given birth to the baby at home, to apply for the baby girl's birth certificate.

As suspicions grew and the initial blood test results of the infant and woman didn't match, police was alerted to probe the case. It led to police later the same day issuing an arrest warrant for the 30-year-old woman on the charge of taking the baby away from the care of its parents. The baby was returned to its real parents after DNA test results last week confirmed their biological tie.

Pol Lt-Colonel Samai Mongkholchoo, an investigator at Muang Roi Et Police Station, yesterday said police had checked CCTV footage and interviewed two nurses and one employee of the private hospital who served a shift for additional information. The testimonies also led to police seeking more arrest warrants for the female suspect's husband, aged 29, his mother, 55, and another female companion, 46, who carried the baby into the private hospital.

The three denied wrongdoing and claimed to be at the private hospital at the woman's request.

Happened in different country's....several times, different modus operandi, but same crime with same results....in general not so many people involved...
