tv or internet which is the problem

I have a sony smart tv ex65 and live in chiang mai thailand. We were on TOT fibre optic internet and on average the you tube when in use went off about once per hour. If it was in the middle of a film the picture would go blank just showing the sony sign. I would then go through the process of going from normal tv to you tube go to view history click on last view and watch the end of the you tube film. AIS internet came knocking at our door and told us if we changed to them YOU TUBE would work OK...so we did as advised. When AIS was first installed 3 months ago it was no better than TOT and went off once per hour on average. Three months later You Tube is going off every 20 minute on average sometimes it will last for an hour other times 2 minutes, and it is impossible to watch anything properly. We called AIS six times and they refused to come out saying their system was ok and it must be our tv. On the seventh call they did come out and again blamed the TV. I pointed out that if it is the TV at fault then it seems strnge that it repairs itself and works better on you tube late at night, and it also works better for a while after I make a complaint to AIS

NB The you tube search on the TV rarely works stating too much memory required, and if there is an advert before my chosen film you tube would fail at the end of the advert or when i try to skip the advert

You don't have a computer, laptop or a mate with one to compare?

Smells much like a problem with the TV software/firmware.

As I have no experience with these smart TVs: maybe someone can tell whether such stuff can be updated from the net?

Are you running the TV with a wire or wireless connection? That could make a difference - especially if wifi signal is not good or local interference. By late at night what time do you mean? Normally connections on internet are poorest during the evening when everyone is using.

It is on a wire....late at night means after 11pm but it still only works better ie there are problems at all times of the day

And youtube is a site that works most of the time without problems (special infrastructure for youtube/Google, Microsoft, Facebook and more).

You really(!) need help from someone with a computer/laptop to compare/diagnose.

And this problems under "NB" are very unlikely related to your line/internet connection.
