looking to buy a reversible air condition

Featured Replies

anyone seen or tried any good ?

reversible means it can work as a heat-pump also

something i would like now as we have 12 degrees now

Common in many countries but ave never been able to find one in Thailand.

I've got the same 12 degrees. I'm loving my Mitsubishi heat pump. I bought it here in Chiang Rai. for about double what a regular A/C costs. No problem. Works GREAT. Cheaper to run than resistance coil portable electric heaters, plus it heats the whole room with a nice, even heat. Other brands readily available. I know, because I'm looking to buy a second unit for the other bedroom. Check at a BIG shop. When you have it, you'd be surprised how often you use it!

Longtooth, could you share which model you have and where you got it please?

Even our local a/c specialists seem to either not know what I mean or not have (or be able to get).

It's very possible something is getting lost in translation, so an exact thing for them to locate which is also known to be available here would be very handy.

Thank you, thank you thank you for this thread, I never knew they even existed.

We had one in Belgium, brilliant.

They also give out about 3 times as much heat energy than the electrical energy they consume, so you get 3kW of heat for every 1kW you pay for (does depend upon the outside temperature).

The only one I can see on the market here is a Panasonic, Mitsu. doesn't even mention one on their product page so I wonder how widely accepted they are here.

If you open a conventional (spare) refrigerator it will create sufficient heat.

Some farmers use this trick if temperatures are going far below 0 Celcius.

I have a Samsung smart inverter aircon.

It has a "heat" option on the remote but all it does is blow air at room temp. sad.png

Please share model no and / or picture.

Thanks

Just back from Homepro, they have an electrolux model, serves 21-30 square metres and produces 18,000 BTU, 39,900, it's their largest heat/air combined model.

Questions is whether it is a heat pump or just a heating element in it.

Reversible means it should take heat out of the outside air and get you 1/3 to 1/5 heating bill

I have the same and it is great. I have been informed that the Mitsubishi one is not now available with the heat pump.

I bought mine when I moved up here and am basking in warmth dressed in a tshirt and shorts...29 degrees.....

Model number please.

On the below website within the three (3) groups shown are indoor heat pumps to consider!clap2.gif

But which are available here is the burning question.

It looks like the Kirigamine Zen & Move-Eye Human Sensor lines from Mitsu Electric have reverse cycle/heating capacity. The Super Inverter line does not.

Sourced from the Download Catalog link at:

https://www.mitsubishi-kyw.co.th/product-view.php?group_id=1&cat_id=1&sub_cat_id=5&product_id=10

I don't read Thai, but at the end of the catalog, there is a table with detailed specs of their inverter line in English.

The Electrolux model is a heat pump, two sizes available, largest puts out 18k BTU, covers 15-20 square metres and costs 36,500 baht. A smaller model exists.
