CityNews – On February 24, the Bangkok Bank at Chiang mai Rajabhat University was attacked by a thief who managed to escape in a car but with no money.

A thief who had his face covered with a helmet entered the bank carrying a knife and a bag. He walked over to the bank’s employees and told them to hand over the money and not to sound the alarm or he would activate a bomb in his bag.

However, the employees ignored his requests, opened the cash drawers, took the money and fled to the secure back room.

The alarm was sounded and the thief escaped, driving a car with no licence plates.

To all bank's executives and CEO in Thailand, I have an idea that I came up with it all by my self.... ( yeah, really )

prohibit anyone entering the bank with helmets and gloves on by instructing guard to enforce these rules

and most of the robberies will stop.... but nah... this is Thailand, common sense doesn't prevails here....

It is standard procedure at most banks, some even have pictures of no helmet, sunglasses and hats. Probably the security guard in this bank was too slow to react.

The action of the staff was pretty selfish too, always give the thief what they want for the safety of customers. She is no hero in this case.

Where was their security guard? Every time I walk into a SCB, the security guard looks for me to remove the hat on my head.
