England fans will not have any problems with Russian thugs at the WC. What you saw in Europe will not happen at the WC. The security and organisation will be very tight.

And I can tell you the likes of St. Petersburg or Sochi in summer are great places to be, great beer, great food and i've never seen so many beautiful woman

The game on Thursday night was bad but yesterday's was woeful. It was either a very clever strategic plan to not build our hopes up for next year or we are garbage. I fear the latter

It was so poor I changed channel to watch Scotland.

Henderson gets picked game after game. How? He reminds me of Rightangle Ray Wilkins.

I hope your right Bob but Mark Roberts, the National Police Chiefs’ Council national football policing lead reckons there'll be lots of it

After last year in Marseilles "Vladimir Markin, head of the Russian Football Union’s security committee, praised his nation’s behaviour in Marseilles, saying that French police were “amazed” to see “real men” from Russia as they are only used to policing gay parades." :shock1:

This will be on the Russian "Ultra's" own doorstep and so travel restrictions won't come into it. They'll even get mobs who wouldn't normally travel to football matches getting involved. As I say, I hope your right.

The reason why all that trouble started was because of the useless French police and security.

The Russians are so aware of the PR disaster that could unfold if the same happened when they knowingly could prevent it. Throw in the real domestic threat of terrorist attacks they will have there hands full.

I doubt you'd find gangs of Russian ultras roaming around cities, security will not let it happen. They will know these people and the will restrict them moving about.

Couple of my mates went to the Spartak match and they were escorted and advised and communicated with the whole journey. Said they felt very safe.

There are a lot misconceptions about Russia and Russians, it would be a shame if people stayed away because of a minority or <deleted>. In Russia, they are generally courteous, friendly, welcoming, fun people.

The team is ready and able in all aspects other than midfield.  Even when we had good players, we often used to lose momentum against relatively lowly opposition; so, this isn't something that has just manifested.  The difference this time is we just don't have that quality midfielder that can run the game, and deliver incisive passes.

The only hope is that Wilshire gets his act together and reinforces his balsa wood ankles.  An even longer shot would be for Lewis Cook (Bournemouth), or another youngster, to progress rapidly.

Otherwise, we just have to hope Sturridge, Lallana, and Wellbeck get fit.  These players have invention, particularly in a packed penalty box.

I'm afraid just about any team that doesn't fancy mixing it with England knows that all it must do is sit with ten men behind the ball, waiting perhaps for the odd counter attack goal.  Hence, I think we are going to see a re-run of recent tournaments.  I'm just hoping we can see England notch up wins as they have been doing, because I still think that in a more open game against good opposition, we will feel more comfortable, since we are basically a counter attack team.  One difference from last time is that we have a better defence.

Kids play USA in the quarter finals tonight for those not fussed about the Premiership. 21:30 on Eurosport 2 and beIN Arabia 8:post-4641-1156694572:

Need to up their act after squeezing through on a 50/50 shootout.  That was surprising.  Rather poor.

England 4-1 USA.....Brewster (LFC) with a hat trick and Gibbs-White (WWFC) with the other. Play Germany or Brazil in the semis on Wednesday K/O 18:30 (Thai)

That's better!  Respectability achieved.  That semi looks daunting, but hopefully it will be such a hard game for both teams, that either will be a bit tired come the semi.
