It was made by Orange County Choppers, not by Caterpillar.

It's a Caterpillar "themed" bike. A one-off.

Are you sure? When I used to watch the show years ago they seemed to build everything with V-twin engines, this one is a V8!

They've come a long way

But really when thinking of CAT and motorbike I'd expect something along the lines of..

Rocket III rip off.

Not at all.

Boss Hoss was making these type of bikes at least a decade before before Rocket III was introduced.

Wow, that's a long run then as the first Rocket 3 was introduced in 1968!

Looks more like a Hardly Fergison, to me?

The name "Rocket III" is derived from the 1968 BSA motorcycle, the Rocket 3, which was also produced as the "Triumph Trident."

The Triumph Rocket III first went on sale in 2004.

There's always a "comedienne".

I'm sure that you know exactly the meaning of my post tho"

Yes, I'm sure. It uses a Boss Hog engine.

No record of this "bike" having been built by OCC apart from this one reference which IMO is wrong.

OCC did built a "Caterpiller" bike in that year but was the usual V twin crap that they build.

It is a Boss Hoss bike not an OCC one.

Originally built with 2 seats.

Yeah, i know. Longer than that even. But... this one has Rocket III type styling. Those V8 bikes weigh way too much, do not go round corners, poor braking systems, generally have no transmission, and are a typical American automotive design of "as long as it goes fast in a straight line". The Rocket III, on the other hand....

I was actually surprised at the weigh of the Boss Hoss @ 484kgs (dry) vs the Rocket II @ 350kgs (dry). I thought the BH would have been a lot heavier. It comes with a semi auto 2 speed gearbox BTW.

Yeah, Bohemoths both of them. 600 lbs, let alone 7-800 lbs or more for a motorcycle is just ridiculous.

I have some friends in the UK, that changed from years of HD to Rocket III's, they love 'em. They obviously are considerably faster, but they also handle and stop. They do not hang around either, sunday riders they are not.

CAT bike pic has a Big Block Chevy

Chev never made an ally big block. it is a World Products Merlin III Aluminum Block. Which is compatible with all GM Gen IV BBC components.

Just ONE Question..........does it come in a squirt and go figure.????

Whats that ?

Yes, I'm sure. It uses a Boss Hog engine.

Boss Hoss normally use Chevrolet V8s.

Do you think it might be a BossHoss and not an OCC bike then Issanman ?

Ive a sneaky suspicion you might be correct.

Looks like a Boss Hoss with a CAT paint job to me.

Youve nailed it for sure. Defo a BH bike.

Have you read the rest of the thread by any chance ?
