Udon Thani Airport to Nong Bua Lamphu

Featured Replies

I am going to flying into Udon airport at 9am and am wondering the best way to get to Nong Bua Lamphu from there and timings. I read that I can get an airport taxi/bus service into Udon, so does anyone have any idea if buses run at regular intervals from Udon bus station. I would have a 9am flight back in the morning so I doubt I would be able to get back from Lamphu to Udon after 9pm at night so probably an overnight in both Lamphu and Udon is inevitable. Any advice on accomodation in the centre of Lamphu would be appreciated as well as the travel options between Udon and Lamphu.

Thank you

There is frequent bus travel between Udon and Nong Bua (most of them continuing to Chum Phae).

The quality is mixed and start with non AC buses in dubious condition surely to avoid.

AC buses from Udon via Nong Bua to Chum Phae about every hour.

Don't know where the mini vans go.

Udon to Nong Bua is about 50 km (about 32 miles) and done well under one hour with an AC bus (from the bus station).

You go back with a 9 AM flight from Udon?

Set the alarm to leave at 6 AM and travel from Nong Bua?

Can't help more as I drive the route occasionally by car only.

Buses are passing by our junction.

Wait for more experienced hints.

And I would bet that there are early morning buses back to UT from NBL.

Absolutely,

After sunrise there is frequent bus travel.

If your really stuck or pushed for time etc I'm sure a metered taxi wouldn't cost the earth and would be a quick easy comfortable fix.

Just take the number of who ever takes you and tell them you will use them to travel back.

I got a car to near the Loei border for 1000 Baht. NBL town is 50 km less.

Sorry, forgot to add, ask at the taxi stand. 1 hour drive to the town.

They have 1st class VIP bus companies at the Udon bus station. The one near the 1st circle.Might be A few baht more but to me

It's worth it.
