More power, which is always a good thing, but not enough power to catch you off guard, so you can really start to learn riding a bike.

I went from 150, 250/300, 630 to 1000

Which 300 are you wanting? I think the R3/MT03 or Ninja300 or Z300 are the best ones out there at the moment

What riding do you plan? Pillion? Bags?

I love the PCX150 on my own with a small backpack commuting or out of town. Prefer it to my old 400 except odd occasion when I feel like heading to the hills for a 'scratch' which is getting rarer as wisdom grows. Then I can't stand up straight for a day. Comfy PCX. Do you want or need more power?

Not sure which I would go with maybe bags.

I do very little long distance driving anymore before I sold my Harley wide glide the wife and I covered a lot of Thailand

I might would do a Nong Khai run but but most riding would be short trips with a few May Sai runs maybe

As far as needing more power the 150 seems to have enough everyday power I just miss the power of the Harley I know the 300 will still be well short but with it's increase in size and more power than the PCX 150 I might be more satisfied with it

I was thinking about the 300 FORZA

I had a test-sit on a Forza. Compared to my current PCX150, I don't have enough room for my legs on a Forza. I prefer the position on the PCX, and she is good enough for longer tours anyway. I my eyes, the Forza 300 is not worth the extra amount of money.

Have a look at a trip I did with my PCX, it was a great experience. Move over to http://hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4103 and have fun reading about it.

i have a forza and have done a few short 5 to 8 hour runs on it, it is a lot more comfortable to cruise on than a pcx as the extra power allows the bike to sit at highway speeds without ringing its neck.

the riding position can be a wee bit cramped, as there is a hump in the seat, however i have approached a local upholsterer and he can remove the hump and give a more flat seat for a reasonable sum.

the seating position would not be a problem if i was not 1.9 meters tall.

i upgraded my rear shocks as well as i travel with passengers, one of which is around 90 kilo's and as i am 120 kg's the bike is reaching the limits of the OEM shocks.

overall i think you should rent one for a day or two and try it on for size as they are a bit bigger and a bit heavier.

personally i don't have any trouble riding it around in heavy traffic but some people prefer a more nimble machine.

i am in the process of selling my forza, not because i am unhappy with it, its just that the bike i am going to purchase, bmw s1000xr, is just a bit faster and just a bit more powerful and i need the ability to go fast.

please do not listen to the naysayers, go rent one and try it and make up your own mind.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I picked up a new Orange FORZA today.

I only put 50 km on it about half of that in the city I am only 5'10 so I have a problem with the Seat but I can see someone over 6 feet might have problems.

I can see the FORZA has a little more weight than the PCX but its nothing compared to the Harley Wide glide, but like the Harley I see it takes a little more space to turn around .

I plan to make a run around the Chiang Mai mountains tomorrow to see how it handles. I don't want to be too hard on it as it only has about 55 km on it.

Lots of people have been complaining about the PCX seat for ages, and rightly so imo...however this is easily fixed with a replacement from these folk (they do seats for Forza's also):

https://www.facebook.com/mpmotorseat/?rc=p

They have lots to choose from and even give the option of moving the backrest back 2 to 3 inches ! all for around 2000 baht. I've just ordered my 2nd from them (very happy with the first but my dogs chewed a big hole in it chasing a snake :-)

Congrats on your new Forza Steve, I wish u happy / safe riding :-)

Thanks for the info on the seats. I took trip short trip through the mountains around Chiang Mai yesterday I was okay with the seat but the wife didn't like the way it set in the back.

Yes, I would recommend it, that is what I have done, but I have still kept my PCX 150, as I like it that much.

If you are always riding solo, and don't break the speed limits, IMO, there is really no need to go above a 300cc for these long road trips.

You must be quite a bit over 6ft tall, I am exactly 6ft, and I have OK leg room on my Forza.

No problem Steve, I like to spread word of good stuff like this to fellow TV members as I think it will benefit any (and there does seem to be a lot) who complain about inadequate leg room etc. I just received and fitted my new seat yesterday and am delighted with it, soft, backrest set (slightly) further back on my one, and looks great.

I do however recommend paying the extra for the genuine Honda seat frame (they give you a choice) as its far superior to the copy one and has the rubber seal around the edges.

I have a forza and love it. Abs brakes. Good power. Comfortable ride. Two cons are. With the larger wheel base it doesn't turn as sharply as a smaller bike and it is a bit heavier. No way of jump starting it and battery hard to get at. Having said that. I have a friend who had 5 bikes and only rides his forza now.
