CHIANG MAI:-- Netizens went barmy over a pic of a Chiang Mai policeman who bore a remarkable resemblance to the country's prime minister.

And in next to no time pics of the handsome Mae Rim copper had been shared over 11,000 times.

Members of the public, seeing the resemblance of the officer at an event in the northern city, had taken selfies that were shared on Montri Panyafu's page.

Some posters quipped that the PM was probably taking time off to be a policeman for the day.

Good to read some light hearted news for a change.

Lovely photo of the PM as well, but which one?

And no doubt similar qualifications and attributes for running a country.

' Handsome Mae Rim copper " ? cheesy.gif

How can he possibly resemble the PM ?

Now the PM will have an excuse if he ever get caught doing something wrong... It's not me,

it's the guy in CM.....

Maybe the PM can do a ' Saddam ' and have a lookalike to stand in for him in public when things turn nasty.

Montri has since been invited by the Junta for attitude adjustment.

Good there is astand in. When the Sh.t hits the fan then he can hide and let some one else take the bullet... as the saying goes

They say there can be only one, but I'm having hard time distinguishing Prayuth from Phibun, Sarit, et al.
