Thumbs up for Ubon immigration

Featured Replies

Today I did my first marriage visa renewal in Ubon Ratchathani immigration. For the past 2 years it was in Hua Hin and that was a nightmare. I thought I had all my documents in order but as I said to my wife there is bound to be a surprise. I had my banking info in order, so I thought and they wanted copies going back for the previous 3 months even though I had the letter from the bank. No problems with the officer, he went off and copied my book bank...or as we say bank book details. He was very happy to help out and fix another small issue. I found all the officers extremely helpful and it was very nice and refreshing to see the staff very jovial and glad to help out. It made my 70 km trip not so painful. A thanks to a couple of TV folks, in particular Joe for giving some good advice with visa requirements here in Ubon.

Always a Big Surprise, when things go well. Sad that it has to be that way.

They are all friends of Ubon Joe clap2.gif

My renewals alway go smoothly there. Last year they worked through lunch to finish it so I sent have to wait an extra hour.

Good news for you John; Ubon's the place to be eh?

In 19 years I have had only a handful of problems at Ubon Immigration, almost all of them during the reign of the dragon queen; no doubt you will remember her from your previous time in Ubon!

I agree about the staff attitude; the young (to me) guy who usually sits at the desk close to the entrance was very helpful when we applied in December, even staying on 15-20 minutes during the lunch break to complete my documents, then being there at 1 o'clock to hand them over for processing/signing.

Hey Chris ...Yes he was very helpful indeed. His name is Khun Wiset and he couldn't do enough for us. I do remember the dragon lady a few years back when I had my business visa renewal. Goodness Chris, you have been here almost 20 years!!! Just about a local by now. Great to hear from you mate. Hope to see you soon.

Yes, Wisit, that's him.

Nineteen years and still filling in the same details (mostly) with the same endless copies; and the same nervousness whenever I apply, but doubt that it will change in my lifetime.

I'm still a newcomer compared to some I have met; I think UbonJoe is a front-runner in the Isaan longevity race; he is certainly the most knowledgeable!

All the best.

Is this ubon immigration office the same one as at amnat charoen?..I have to go there shortly for a 90 day report.thanks.

Two different provinces

Numerous immigration offices serve more that one provence. Kap Choeng Immigration serves Surin and Buriram Provinces.

No. The following info is taken from TV. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/816036-amnat-charoen-immigration-office-address/

Posted for the attention of Maestro.

Amnat Charoen Immigration office is located at the rear of the Civic Hall, 4.6Km along the 212, on the left, from the junction with the 202.

The entrance to the grounds of the Civic Hall are opposite a large Mitsubishi dealership.

Upon entering the entrance, follow the road around the large Civic Hall building to the rear at which point a smaller attached building becomes visible, which houses the Immigration office. It is well signposted from this vantage, however it is only accessible via a large set of steps.

Rather than start a new topic I can double up on the thumbs up for Ubon immigration.

Did my 9th extension based upon marriage today. Same paperwork as previous years. Got there a little after 11, paid the fee about 10 minutes before lunch closing and was told to come back at one o'clock and was done by 1:20.
