Are Russian bad drivers...or ?

Featured Replies

That's why car cameras are mandatory in Russia....

with the worlds highest use of cctv - stationary and mobile - it is no wonder that russian traffic incidents are more widely published than those of other nations.

Seems pedestrian crossings don't mean a thing in Russia as well as hit and run being the norm.

From the Thailand Motor Forum description -

Cars, law, traffic rules, drivers license, routes etc. Repair shops, second hand cars, all things petrol and diesel!

Actually they do. In my several years of rotational work there I found that it seems they like to speed up when someone enters a crosswalk, as though it is a game or somehow funny to force the pedestrian to dash out of their way to save their life!

Ummmm nonsense.

Russia ranks 92nd in the world with a fatality rate per 100,000 inhabitants of 16.42.

By comparison, Thailand's rate is 33.57; Indonesia 19.68; Malaysia 25.25; Vietnam 23.10. To compare to other countries - USA 9.99; Canada 5.86; and of course; UK 2.97

Russia has the highest rate of dash-cam usage. For a VERY good reason. Dash-cam big discount in insurance. No dash-cam, maybe not even get insurance.
