Outside of Hua Hin & Cha Am

Plenty of pictures in the internet covering Hua Hin & Cha-Am. Mostly beach related. Fine and certainly nothing wrong with that!
-What about pictures of the Mountain Range behind Hua Hin / Cha Am ? ( All National Parks?)
- Or pictures of "hidden" fishing villages between Cha-Am and Hua Hin, or south of Hua Hin?
I can imagine, that Expats having lived in the area for years, could contribute. If not by pictures, then by the written word.
Thx & Cheers.

You are totally right!

I am living south of Hua Hin, in Khao Tao, only 1 kilometre away from the beach and near some golf courts.

But I don't play golf and we seldom go to the beach. The areas near the mountains or south towards Pranburi and Sam Roi Yot are very beautiful. These regions are also very good for cycling and biking.

There are so many places, which I cannot name or describe. I also have to search for pictures, first...

Nice thread and in fact some of the nicest spots in both Hua Hin, Cha Am and further south can be found away from the beach.

A favourite of mine is the Khao Nang Panthurat Forest Park in Cha Am. Very quiet and peaceful with well kept gardens and a nice spot to take a picnic or sit under a tree and read a book.

Although, watch out for the monkeys. There hardly used to be any, but the last time I went a month or so ago there a lot more.

I live on the eastern seaboard of thailand, and on several road trips to the other side of thailand I have visited the town of Prachuap Khiri Khan and absolutely love it, wonderful scenery and beautiful bay, friendly locals, etc etc....in fact I could see myself re-locating there.

Take the vehicle for a Sunday and drive on the back roads from Cha-am to Pranburi. There aee a number of nice spots. Most of the dams are in this area although they are now dry. Kaeng krachan national park which includes Pa-la-u. Good campingsites in this park during the dry season. Unfortunately most of the gems I only have on the gps and cant give you names etc. One of our favourite eating spots is on a secluded beach just north of Bangsapan, but there is no name for it.

Recently moved to hua hin and close to the railway station,

any suggestions for a day out on the train from hua hin

to some nearby towns with a nice beach not to far away ?

You could take the train down to Bangrood, which is about 160 km from Hua Hin, probably takes 2 1/2 to 3 hours. From the train station it's a 10 minutes taxi ride down to the beautiful beach. There are plenty of resorts, I recommend the Arcadia, to spend a night or two in the area.
